Job Title: Elementary Teacher Succession Plan Developed: Department: Instructional Reports to: Director of Elementary Revision Date: May 11, 2015 Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt Position Overview: Provides group academic instruction including assessment, development and implementation of elementary curriculum within an elementary classroom setting. The Elementary Teacher also collaborates with Elementary Speech Pathologist to implement speech, language, and pragmatic goals for students in the academic classroom. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Serves as case manager to the students in the class – communicating with parents, administrators & individual therapists on an ongoing basis. • Provides therapeutic reading intervention using Association Method and/or Neuhaus methodologies as determined through initial assessment or previous instructional program outlines. • Provides progress reports at scheduled times during academic year. • Maintains records as required by law, establishment's policy, and administrative regulations. • Attends meetings and student conferences as the case manager. • Participates in other activities to promote professional growth. • Plans academic lessons that incorporate language-rich goals in each subject area. • Displays strong classroom management skills. • Individualizes academic instruction to meet multiple grade levels in each class. • Supports Intra Curricular Activity Teachers (ICATs) as needed within their classroom support times. • Coordinates class field trips.
