INTRODUCTION TO
TREND-DRIVEN INNOVATION
THE 5 BIG MEGA-TRENDS
FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS
We’ll move beyond the usual clichés (mobile! China!) and get right to
the heart of how consumer behaviour will change in ways we guarantee
you won’t hear elsewhere. We’ll explore themes such as the shattering
of the traditional adoption curve, the changing patterns of consumer
demographic preferences, what the next phase of tech-driven disruption
means for customer expectations, why consumers are lavishing love
and attention on start-ups and how big brands can respond.
An introduction to the day, and an overview of the
Trend-Driven Innovation Process:
SCAN – spot the trends that matter to you
FOCUS – prioritise and work with trends strategically
GENERATE – turn insights into winning new ideas
EXECUTE – get your ideas into customers’ hands

THE 10 NEWEST & MOST ACTIONABLE
TRENDS FOR RIGHT NOW
TREND FRAMEWORK:
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
KNOWLEDGE NETWORKING
& SOCIAL HEALTH
While the entire day is about future
opportunities, during this session we’ll share
an exclusive preview of the latest innovations
emerging from our spotter network and the
trends we’re currently working on.
This session looks at how to structure a
Trend Framework. In it, you’ll learn how to
to process the day-to-day avalanche of
consumer-facing innovations you come
across by cross-referencing them against
the big, underlying consumer needs and
wants. You’ll leave with a coherent and
robust understanding of the consumer and
business arena (finally!).
We all face unprecedented challenges in terms
of how to survive the tsunami of information
that threatens to drown us. As the world’s
first professor in networking, Julia Hobsbawm
(Editorial Intelligence) will explain how we need
to regard our social health – how we manage
technologies, attention, and networks, in the
same way as we do our overall physical and
psychological health.
Rest assured they’ll be the newest, most
opportunity-rich and readily-actionable trends
out there!
