Job purpose
The Operations Ambassador (OAD) is highly adaptable and wants Local Foods to thrive and succeed by
demonstrating clear communication and active listening skills; oftentimes arriving early and staying late to
ensure Local Foods’ standards are met before the workdays’ end.
The OAD acts as the face of Local Foods and provides the highest quality customer service in the industry by
fulfilling all deliveries and striving for 100% accuracy, timeliness and customer satisfaction. This role serves as a
key member of the Operations team and works collaboratively with the Operations Manager and Operations
team.
This position has the ability to significantly influence and develop positive relationships between the company
and customers.
Duties and responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities/Accountability:
Teamwork & Communication:
· Provides leadership, diligence to productivity, and attention to detail with the Operations team
· Works to support the overall goals of the Operations team
· Demonstrates a willingness to do whatever it takes to help Local Foods succeed
· Carries out all duties, expressed or otherwise, as assigned by management
· Participates as a team player and effective communicator:
o Interacts and communicates, both written and verbally, with all team members and stakeholders
in a timely and informative manner
o Successfully works in an environment that requires teamwork and the ability to work
independently to maintain required job parameters
o Provides timely constructive feedback to supervisor and team members
Safety:
· Maintains a safe work environment
· Maintains a clean driving record
· Understands and follows all Motor Vehicle laws within Illinois and throughout the Midwest
· Is accountable and responsible for Motor Vehicle infractions when driving Local Foods vehicles
· Uses proper form when lifting product and tools
· Uses all equipment properly as directed by the manufacturer
· Understands the application and execution of safety and sanitation rules by ServSafe standards regarding
the food, road, team, and space
Customer Service:
· Be polite
Be an active listener and ask engaging questions learning more about customer needs
· Be energetic, fun, friendly and customer service oriented
· Be positive and have a great sense of quality, urgency, pride in work and accountability
· Delivers product in a timely fashion
· Reports grievances of customers directly to Operations and Sales Teams
· Understands how to work in a small team environment
Driving & Picking:
· Perform daily check-ins with all drivers, including communications, equipment, and vehicle safety checks
· Accurately tag delivery boxes for his / her route
· Make edits to pick-sheets based on product availability with 100% accuracy
· Leads the truck load-in process to ensure orders are arranged in order of deliveries
· Ensures all items listed on the final invoice are on the truck before leaving
Maintains Highest Quality:
· Proper handling/storage of product
· Maintain personal hygiene and keep neat and tidy appearance
· Cleans out the back of the truck ensuring sanitation standards are followed daily
· Cleans entire truck inside/outside twice a week
Administrative:
· Management and control of delivery equipment and tools, including gas cards, phones, GPS, driver kits
and emergency supplies.
· Move fleet in and out of loading areas
· Updates delivery notes as needed
· Completes daily “Driver Delivery Log” at each stop in route
· Emails finalized invoices to customer at the end of the day.
· Properly files invoices and payments received.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Warehouse:
· Maintain warehouse cleanliness and ensure showroom appearance
· Wear latex gloves when picking orders
· Prepare orders for delivery or pick-up
· Maintain the proper handling and knowledge of produce, proteins and dairy to ensure the delivery of the
highest quality
· Assist the Inventory Clerk as needed with (but not limited to) evaluating, resolving and maintaining the
highest level of quality control, reporting accurate cooler/freezer inventory and maintaining cooler/freezer
organization

At least one (1) year experience as a delivery driver
Must be able to work flexible hours depending on the work load
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, as the warehouse temperatures will fluctuate

and/or customer service related tasks.
