Kelly Lockington, the company’s owner, first trained as a carpenter in the 80’s and joined the Ontario New Home Warranty Program in the early 90’s. His wife Lorna, certified in home design and a trained SoftPlan draftsperson, has designed many of the one of a kind signature homes. Family-owned and operated, Kelly Lockington will pass his company on to his son, Ben in the coming years, where he will apply his Construction Technology and ICF certifications and continue to grow the business by pushing the limits of conventional home building. First gaining confidence in constructing with Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF) nearly 16 years ago, Lockington specializes in ICF foundation and frames because of the superior sound and thermal barrier it provides over wood in the Canadian climate. Kelly is trained and certified to supply and install ICF, and has now completely converted from conventional construction methods to become one of Ontario's few "full time" ICF dedicated crews. In addition to ICF, Lockington Homes has also completed the necessary training to become an authorized applicator of the Agilia Screed A product by Lafarge. As a custom homebuilder, Lockington can now offer their clients the most energy efficient building envelope possible with the exterior thermal mass of ICF and the interior heating efficiencies with a radiant floor system. WHY WE WORK WITH THE BEST. While easy to place, AgiliaTM Screed A does require a thorough understanding and detailed preparation of the site to ensure the performance of the product. This is why Agilia Screed A is exclusively installed by authorized contractors. These contractors have the proper equipment and are trained for all application types. A typical crew size is dependent on the job size, but in favourable conditions a small crew of 3 to 4 can install up to 40, 000 square feet in one day.
