Community Falls Prevention Program Falls can be devastating, costly but more importantly, falls can be prevented! Lodi Health is teaming up with The LOEL Senior Center to provide a FREE Fall Prevention Program for older adults in our community. The program offers a team of professionals who will educate, evaluate and share fall prevention strategies with the participant. It is our hope that by offering this fall prevention program, we can reduce falls and help older adults live better, longer lives. Over six weeks, the Lodi Health team will meet with you individually, once a week to Coach you through the program. The Lodi Health team and program includes an orientation followed by a six week program: Week One – Physical Therapy Fall Screen Assessment with our physical therapy team Week Two – Wellness/Fitness Coaching Custom exercise program created to enhance balance and strength Week Three – Pharmacy Experts Medication Review by the pharmacy team Week Four – Environmental Factors Home environment review with our home health experts Week Five – Advanced Health Care Planning Review advance directives with our Social Service staff Week Six – Eyesight Vision screening An introduction and questions and answers forum will be held at LOEL at the Square on March 18th at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Program to start in April. With Helen Gross, a Former Educator, as the speaker. March, by Geraldine Brooks March retells Louisa May Alcott’s novel Little Women from the point of view of Alcott’s protagonists’ absent father. The classic tale has been inserted in the story revealing the events surrounding March’s absence during the Civil War in 1862. This 2006 Pulitzer Prize novel, an antidote to the "sugar filled" Little Women, is not a children’s story, but a hard look at slavery, marriage, war and separation, courage vs. cowardice.
