Update . . .
April 2015

Our Delivery Vehicle at the Israeli Knesset.
New Delivery Vehicle . . . Sorta
by R. David Weisskopf
The Love for Israel Relief Fund now has a
2011 Citreon Berlingo to use as our new
delivery vehicle. The timing is perfect
because a local NGO has retained me to
make weekly visits homes in Jerusalem and
the surrounding areas. These people are in
such distress that the court awarded
guardianship to this NGO. The NGO shares
our vision to try preserving the most natural
and least restrictive environment for each
home as we meet their needs together.
The delivery vehicle allows us to add these
needy people to our existing work. This
Berlingo is best-suited for Jerusalem’s
mountainous and congested traffic
conditions. It is small enough to fit into the
same parking spaces as economy cars. Its
custom design; which includes a high roof,
large cargo area and diesel engine, allows it
to haul tons of cargo through Israel’s
mountainous terrain.
A similar delivery vehicle previously
improved the Love for Israel Relief Fund’s
ability to pick up donated humanitarian aid
from local donors and make deliveries to
populations suffering from the highest levels
of child poverty in Israel.
For example, we were able to pick up and
deliver over $100,000 worth of donated
computer systems in a single delivery with
our last vehicle. These computers were used
as computer labs at career training centers
for single mothers, job training centers for
refugees, and schools for at-risk children.
We affordably tapped into a nationwide
network for warehouses, suppliers,
universities, and other NGO’s to pick up and
deliver humanitarian aid which included
clothes, medical supplies, infant supplies
and other aid for the poor.
Many non-profits need to spend over
$50,000 to purchase a delivery vehicle
which requires a special license to operate
and is very difficult to maneuver through
inner-city streets where some of the neediest
children live. However, our delivery vehicle
can be operated on a standard driver’s
license while still hauling a lot of aid into
congested areas. Thanks to your donations –
the Love for Israel Relief Fund’s costs on
this Berlingo were reduced to ongoing
repairs and maintenance costs.
We are excited to maximize our efficiency
like this. There continues to be monthly
upkeep such as gas, insurance, oil changes,
repairs, etc. The total upkeep averages out
to $500 per month. This maintenance
expense pays for itself after only 2
deliveries.
The Love for Israel Relief Fund
appreciates your ongoing partnership. With
your donations we will be able to continue
making these important deliveries. Simply
designate your donations to “delivering
hope” to sponsor deliveries. On behalf of
needy Israelis in our communities who you
help, thank you for your Love of Israel.
Delivering Hope is an ongoing project that
delivers aid to needy Israelis. Expenses for
the delivery vehicle are $500 per month.
This allows us to pick up and deliver up to
$100,000 in aid per delivery. You can also
sponsor deliveries for one month or more
with a sponsor sign on the delivery vehicle
for deliveries during that month. Donations
designated “delivering hope” will be applied
to operational costs of the delivery vehicle.
Our Holiest work is advocating on behalf of
at-risk Israeli children. This not only saves
lives, it also saves over 90% on taxes and
donations. A growing number of our
national leaders from across the social and
political spectrum are responding positively
to our exhortations on behalf of these little
treasures from Heaven. Your support
empowers us to give a voice to children who
cannot speak out for themselves.
Special Events, like weddings and bar
mitzvahs, happen year round for hundreds of
at-risk kids and needy young adults in Israel.
Donations designated “special events” will
be set aside for such use.
