Little River has been my heart and home for more than 24 years. I have been a part of LRE since 1986 when Christine started Kindergarten and Jenny the next year. I’ve been room mom numerous years, volunteer nurse, worked ASP since the first day it started in 1989, and substituted before being an EIP para, and moving to the office. I’ve seen so many hundreds of students pass through these halls in all my years and still remain in contact with a great many of them, even registering THEIR children. Proud that some of those former students even teach here now!! Little River has always been more than just a neighborhood school to me…it’s a family school!! We all work together for the children and for that I am ever so proud to be a part of it all!! Please don’t think you’ve gotten rid of me, as I’ve already volunteered for helping with BoxTops, Baskets at Fall Festival, and Scholastic Book Fairs as well as help in my daughter’s classes if needed. So I will be around…and you can always catch me on Facebook!! Please know that you all hold a special place in my heart. More rest plus less stress will help my health issues. Looking forward to joining my cronies in this retirement journey! Thanks for the memories…. Love always, Doris Kramer Thursday, April 30th 3:30—6:00 Friday, May 1st 9:00 am—noon Please bring your child for a shot screening during registration. Academic Bowl In order for students to participate on the Academic Bowl team, 4th and 5th grade candidates have to take a rigorous test. The ten students with the highest scores have the honor of representing our school in a zone competition. The 2015 Little River Academic Bowl team took 2nd place in this year’s competition. I don’t think schools will be chosen on how many nominations, but on what the funds are requested for. So if you want to put your name in there to receive the Scholastic bonus points~~here are some tidbits to help w/your nomination: Little River Elementary School 3170 N. Trickum Rd Woodstock, GA 30188 http://portal.cherokee.k12.ga.us/Schools/littleriver-es/default.aspx (LRE website) 1382 students are currently enrolled at Little River Amount requested should be 3,000 (enough to cover what we need, but not be piggies) Expense Description: Replace the Classics 3000 Funds Needed by: 12/01/2015 What would we do w/the money?: We would replace the Classics like Dr. Seuss, Curious George, Snow White & other fairly tales, as well as buy new books. Even thou this school is 7 years old~ LRES was established in 1977 and the books from the old library were brought here. (Patterson believes that we should have ‘hard bound books’..so that’s the route we shall use to ask for the funds.) AND THEN DON’T FORGET TO PUT TEACHER NAME AT THE BOTTOM FOR RECEIVING THE SCHOLASTIC POINTS!!!! The nominating ends MAY 31st…but it’s 1stcome/1stapproved before the funds run out!!!!... Soooooo git ‘er done as soon as you can… Big thanks to ASHLEY HARVEY for letting us know when awesome things come up that can help our school!!
