South Anna Elementary PTA Meeting 4/13/15 MINUTES Executive Board: Kathy Green, President Ann Bilbey, Treasurer Rocky Bennett, Vice President- Fundraising Michael Mudd, Principal Candace Toone, Vice President- Programming(Absent) Cammie Gemmill, Teacher Representative Catey Dickensheets – Vice President –Membership (Absent) Jennifer Sarych, Secretary Committee Chairs in Attendance: None AGENDA: • Call to Order: by President Kathy Green at 3:10p.m. Approval of last meeting’s minutes: approved. • Treasurer's Report (Ann Bilbey) – Receipts: $655.88 Expenses: $168.00 Balance: $26,623.86 Upcoming expenses: Yearbook, Literary Magazine, 5th Grade Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, Admin Appreciation, Scholarships We need to renew our tax-exempt status by June 4. SAES will receive $10000 for SMART Board purchases from the PTA • President's Report (Kathy Green) – The positions of President, VP Fundraising, VP Programming, VP Membership, and Secretary need to be filled for the 2015-2016 school year. The Nominating Committee will be Cammie Gemmill, Kathy Green, and Rocky Bennett. Information forms will be distributed in next Tuesday’s folders. Planning for the Future Meeting and elections will be May 12. Jenn Gurnsey will be in charge of Spirit Wear next year and will start working on a design. Hospitality is working on Admin Appreciation and Teacher Appreciation Week. Kindergarten registration is April 16. Volunteers are still needed to give tours. Two Patrick Henry students will be awarded scholarships again this year. Once, the applications are received, the board will start reviewing the applications and choose the winners. • VP- Membership Report (Catey Dickensheets) Approximately 200 yearbooks have been ordered to date. • VP- Programming Report (Candace Toone) Parent approval letters will go out next Tuesday for the Literary Magazine. The committee is working on compiling information and creating the Literary Magazine. • VP- Fundraising Report (Rocky Bennett) 5th Grade Day will be on June 10. Rocky is heading up the committee for 5th Grade Day. Committee Reports (Mr. Mudd, and Mrs. Gemmill) Mrs. Billingsley and Mrs. Whaley presented information on AdvancED School Improvement. SAES will be going through the accreditation process next fall. The PTA and parents need to be involved in this process. How can the PTA be involved with school improvement?
