Over 100 of BC’s Most Creative to Congregate at the 5th Annual Vancouver Mini Maker Faire FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Over 100 of BC’s most creative residents are set to congregate at the 5th annual Vancouver Mini Maker Faire on June 6th and 7th for the greatest show-and-tell the city has ever seen. With some creatives traveling from the Sunshine Coast or the Gulf Islands to take part and more exhibitors filling PNE Forum than ever before, attendees will have plenty to discover. Whether it’s Rolling Thunder, the mutant vehicle, by long-time Maker Ron Simmer, or the incredible needle-felted Star Wars characters by brothers Jack and Holman Wang, Vancouver Mini Maker Faire offers a rare chance to see what people are making, building, crafting, creating, and hacking with their own two hands. In a celebration of the DIY spirit of the Makers, attendees will have multiple opportunities to try their hand at creating. Code a robotic device at the GearBots Makerspace exhibit, or learn needle-felting techniques with Blushing Lotus—these are just some of the hands-on components of the Faire. But if attendees would rather just feast their eyes, the 50-foot robotic snake, Titanoboa, or the fire art of the Disaster Area Playground are dazzling spectacles of what BC residents can make. The complete list of 2015 Makers can now be found at makerfaire.ca.
