The European Union Centre at RMIT is very pleased to invite you to a public
event on Friday the 19th of June, with Mr Gorazd Žmavc, Minister for
Slovenians abroad, titled ‘Slovenian Business in Australia?’. It will focus on
opportunities for academic, business and cultural cooperation and highlight the
existing relations between Australia and Slovenia, which are based on strong
community ties and small but growing, trade relations.

Mr Gorazd Žmavc, Minister for Slovenians abroad, will speak about the
Slovenian immigrant contribution in the area of academic and business
cooperation with Australia.

Dr Srechko Jernej “Stretch” Kontelj, OAM, former Mayor of Geelong will
give us his views as a businessman and as an academic regarding cooperation
between academia and business (Specsavers).

Mrs Aleksandra L. Ceferin (M.A.), President of The Institute for Slovenian
Studies of Victoria Inc. will speak about ISSV initiatives, and website projects
which are all bilateral endeavours (Australia - Slovenia).
Dr Kaja Antlej, Slovenian Endeavour Fellow at Canberra University on her views
as researcher having experience working in private companies before.
Mr Robert Walters, Acting President of the Slovenian Australian Academic
Association & Secretary of the Slovenian Australian Chamber of Commerce.
