STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Staff Appreciation Week is May 4-8 and we have come up with some ideas so the students can participate. Each
day they can show their teacher their appreciation in a different way. Here are the daily themes:
Monday: Each student brings a flower for their teacher (and/or staff member), they might include the other
teachers they will see on this day, (i.e. music, PE, library, etc.)
Tuesday: Give your teacher a high five!
Wednesday: Bring your teacher a note, drawing, card telling him/her why you appreciate him/her.
Thursday: Do a Random Act of Kindness (RAK) for your teacher
Friday: Bring a candy or a treat and tell them they are sweet.
We are doing several things for our great teachers and staff and could use plenty of help. If you would like help,

SPRING MUSIC PROGRAM “ALADDIN”
Kindergarten and Second Grade students will be performing the Spring Music Program “Aladdin” on Fri.
May 8 @ 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the gym. Parents are invited to attend.
Lost Library Books
Please help your child find and return any lost library books. If your child has a library fine for lost/damaged books, it is now
due. Make checks out to Maple Grove Elementary. If the book is found later and in good condition, you will receive a
refund. Thank You!
Looking for Field Day Volunteers!
Field Day will be on Wednesday, May 27 this year. If you are available, we would really appreciate your help! We will
need 1-2 volunteers for each station during both the morning and afternoon. The morning volunteers would be working from 9:00-11:00, and the afternoon volunteers would be working from 1:00-3:00 p.m. You may sign up at the

PARKING LOT REMINDERS
Thanks to all parents for patience and courteous actions in the parking lot each day. It is a very busy area before and
after school. When waiting in the middle lane at 3:15 p.m., please pull forward as far as possible. There have been
some gaps on the north side of the crosswalk and it makes it difficult for parents to know when they enter the lot if there
will be space to pull in. Also: many cars are still double parking at the south entrance on Maple Grove, because they
may think the lot is full. This double parking should be avoided whenever possible. Thanks for your help on this!
BOX TOP COLLECTION
Congratulations to Mrs. Mederios’s class for collecting the most box tops this quarter. They received a popsicle party
for turning in 791 tops. All students can still bring in box tops until May 20. A popsicle party will be awarded to the
winning class. Thanks for supporting our PTA through box tops!
