Wallonie. During his time spent at Charleroi/
Danse, Jeff toured as a senior dancer, collaborated

Maria Osende
Ms. Osende grew up in Spain loving ballet and
flamenco which she experienced side by side,
especially during her early years as a member of the
National Ballet of Spain. Later, a Fulbright scholarship
took her to the School of American Ballet in New
York City to further her ballet training. She then moved
to Germany and performed with the Deutsche Opera
Berlin Ballet where she danced as a soloist for eight
years. Throughout this time, Maria started developing
an increased interest in working on her own creations
and in finding a dance style that truly matched her
personality and origins, this inevitably brought her
back to flamenco. Back in Madrid, Maria focused
exclusively on flamenco at the renowned Centro de
Arte Flamenco Amor de Dios. Among her teachers
were Manuel Reyes, La Truco, Ana Maria Amahi,
Inmaculada Ortega. Shortly after, Maria started
performing flamenco as a freelance artist with various
musicians and now has a vibrant Flamenco company
and school in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Ms. LaRusic began her dance training at Truro Dance
Academy at an early age. In 2009 she completed
her studies at The Maritime Conservatory of Performing
Arts Teacher Training Program and is an Associate
Member of The Canadian Dance Teachers Association.
She has since taught at the Truro Dance Academy,
MCPA, Martha Hicks School of Ballet, Ashlei Ballet
School, and Ross Creek Centre for Creation. Amanda
moved to Toronto to further her dance training and
attended The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, a 2012
graduate. Now working as an emerging dance artist,
Amanda has performed in Old & Young and Reckless
Together under direction of Claudia Moore (a remount
of Christopher House’s duet Fjeld ), Peggy Baker Dance
Projects (Nuit Blanche), Peter Boneham (Ottawa ON),
Megan Nadian (DanceMatters), Ruth Levin (Toronto
