DESCRIPTION
During this event, participants will have an opportunity to enhance their clinical
competency in dermatologic conditions.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this educational activity, the participants should be able to:
• Recognize and differentiate benign, pre-malignant and malignant lesions
(Medical Expert)
• Review the clinical features and mangement of cutaneous infestations that are
common in the community setting (Medical Expert)
• Familiarize the practitioner with the many presentations of eczema and psoriasis
(Medical Expert)
• Review newer treatments available in dermatology and communicate their
approrpriate use with patients (Medical Expert, Communicator)
• Manage the patient with acneiform disorders such as acne vulgaris, rosacea, and
folliculitis (Medical Expert)
• Review common pediatric dermatological lesions and rashes that present in
childhood (Medical Expert)
This program will be of interest to:
Family physicians, specialists, nurses, family medicine residents, physician assistants,
pharmacists, and other allied health professionals.
OVERVIEW
The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Bannatyne Campus Program for
Family Physicians is designed to provide a wide range of timely and challenging
topics relevant to an office based practice. Working closely with doctors and
professional organizations across Manitoba, programs are designed to address
current issues relevant to the needs and demands of physicians. These programs are
flexible, accessible, innovative and responsive.
Continuing Professional Development is committed to providing high quality
educational programs to Manitoba physicians. The main program objectives are to
enhance clinical competence and improve patient care. This series of courses will
feature a combination of plenary sessions and panel discussions that will allow the
participant an opportunity for interaction in a convenient, centrally located venue.
The Bannatyne Campus Series offers approximately 40 hours of lectures and/
or workshops throughout the academic year commencing in early October and
ending in June. All plenary sessions will be held in the Frederic Gaspard Theatre at
the Faculty of Medicine.

REFUND POLICY
A registration refund will be made upon written request
prior to the date of session. A $30 administrative fee will be
retained. No refunds will be made for cancellations after the
session date.

This event meets the accreditation criteria of the College
of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited by
the CPD Medicine Program, University of Manitoba for a
maximum of 4.0 Mainpro-M1 credits.
