It is with great excitement that we invite you to be part of this inaugural conference for the music education community in Canada. This conference marks the first time that the CMEA/ACME has hosted a national conference in more than 20 years. We are delighted to be partnering with the Manitoba Music Educators’ Association (MMEA) to present three days on the theme of “Connecting the Community.” The conference theme provides the opportunity for the music education community to celebrate the diversity of music-making that exists across our country, to acknowledge the many ways that music shapes who we are and our communities, and to explore ways that we can continue to inspire and bring together people around the joy of making music. This memorable occasion will bring together a broad community of music educators that represent the worlds of band, choir, early years, jazz, strings, research, administration and other specialties to celebrate and learn together and from each other. We are currently seeking musical performers to enhance the conference in a variety of settings throughout the day. For example, lunchtime performances, session breaks, mealtime, snack breaks, social gatherings, etc. You may expect further communication concerning media release upon successful application.
