Another saying of Wesley: “Catch on fire and others will love to come watch you burn.” b) Pray for Methodists as we celebrate Aldersgate 2015. Pray for a renewal of hearts, rekindling of passion in serving God in our homes, communities and world. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2. c) Pray for Nepal & Philippines: For the families that lost loved ones, that they may be comforted. For relief and aid to be provided quickly and effectively for those affected. Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. ... Psalm 91:1. d) Pray for the ‘boat people’ that requires support, medical assistance and food supplies. Pray for affected countries and governments as they address the issues on immigration, health and safety. e) Pray for the iWelcome Ministry that reaches out to visitors and guests. Pray also for more members to serve in this ministry. f) Pray for the upcoming Church Camp, that it will be a meaningful time of fellowship and learning from God’s Word. Colossians 3:16. h) Pray for Christ’s healing grace on those who are ill. “The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.” Psalm 41:3. Let’s pray unceasingly. Wesley’s Heart Warming Experience In the evening I went very unwillingly to a society in Aldersgate Street, where one was reading Luther’s preface to the Epistle to the Romans. About a quarter before nine, while he was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone, for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death. – John Wesley , 24 May 1738 Our Core Values: Love God | Unconditional Love | Servanthood | Transforming Grace | Reach the Lost | Exponential Faith 4
