As November's elections made clear, Kentucky and the rest of the country are deeply unhappy with President Obama's big government policies and his vision for the nation. Here at home, winning the campaign for Governor and Lieutenant Governor is crucial to Kentucky's future. It is absolutely essential that we challenge a government-run healthcare system that is limiting choices and driving up costs for so many of our fellow citizens; massive government spending and debt, and the relentless hostility we see in both Washington and Frankfort toward Kentucky businesses in general and the coal industry in particular. We know that all of our Republican candidates have better ideas that will better serve our citizens, and that the competitive GOP primary in which you are currently engaged is a sign of the vitality of our party. But once the primary is over, it is essential for all Republicans to unite around our nominees and work together toward victory next fall.
