Class Racing Information
In the spirit of REAL vintage drag racing the Meltdown Drags has Classes much like the 60's.
Please keep in mind, the racing is not taken real seriously, the spirit of the day is fun and re-creation.
WE NEED YOUR HELP IN CREATING THE MATCH UPS…..KEEP IN MIND you can race other cars, but the car
you are matched with is at least one close match race for that day.
YOU the racer are ultimately responsible for finding a Match Race, we will assist, that is what this form
is for….to assist you. Once testing runs are over, racers will be staged in lanes by class, and raced by
remember, some spectators are learning and have never seen a 60's drag race….
Let's take them back for a day and show them how it used to be done!!!
Classes
Front Engine Dragster & Altereds
From Top Fuel to weekend warrior, updated legal FED's (vintage appearing) or your barn fresh last certified in the 60's.
Altereds - with a body, without, current legal (vintage appearing) , or barn fresh car that was last run in 60's
If you have a friend for a match…let us know….we will update you on our logsheet.
Super Stock & Factory Experimental
The real deal, a tribute car, a look alike, come one come all….all must be vintage appearing….
If we get enough interest we could make this s/s and s/sa.
NO snorkel or cowl scoops, and no billet wheels….NEW old type wheels ok ex. Torq thrust, slots, chrome reversed etc.
Gas Coupe & Sedan Class
In the spirit of REAL Gassers….your street car can be raced in this class, let us not forget many 60's Gassers were dual
purpose Street/Strip cars with a full interior…..your can be with an axle, without, full street interior, race interior.
BUT….must be vintage appearing, NO MODERN wheels….no Cowl induction scoops, no snorkel scoops!!!
Hot Rod
Primarily for coupes & sedans, roadsters, customs, etc. Any engine any style….this class would take guys that are bringing
100% street cars making a pass…or street & strip cars that do not fit the gas class.
No visible tuned port engines, no billet wheels, no 80's modern graphics or scoops
Stock
This class is for Stock or Stock appearing cars. Hub caps, 2bbls, 4bbls, etc….not a race car, stock 55 chevy's, 63 Plymouth,
your 50 ford etc.
Exhibition
This is a PRE_APPROVED class signed off by Ryan and Eric…..it may include funny cars, dual engine dragsters, or a special
Nitro matchrace with dragsters or alterds……PLEASE CONTACT us prior to the event to discuss.
Cycle
Any pre66 vintage drag bikes or street bikes that want to make a pass….your welcome.
Non - Functioning or Non Racing REAL race cars This is not an actual class…it is to remind everyone that you are encouraged to bring your barn fresh unrestoed unrunning car
to display and show. OR….if you want to only make a driving speed pass for fun….YES, that is fine.race as light or hard as you
want to…..ALL racing is not on a points or documented system…. bragging rights only !!!
