TRADITION & SERVICE
The Mendota Gridiron Club, incorporated in 1979,
originated as the Mendota Association in 1949. From
the original small group of strong and loyal Wisconsin
football fans, the club has grown to exceed 1,700
members. Today, members have the opportunity to
contribute towards the successful program established
in recent years.
Any individual may become a member of the
Mendota Gridiron Club, Inc. by contributing money,
material or services needed and requested by the
Athletic Department for the football program. All
contributions (cash or in kind) entitle the contributor
to membership status for the calendar year in which
the contribution is made.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Any individual who makes a contribution to the
Athletic Department and designates “Football” is
considered a member of the Mendota Gridiron Club.
Please note that unrestricted gifts tied to football
seating do not entitle an individual to membership in
the Mendota Gridiron Club. All contributions made
in support of Wisconsin Athletics, including those
made to the Football Fund, count toward annual

A MESSAGE FROM HEAD FOOTBALL COACH PAUL CHRYST
It is great to be back at Wisconsin! I am honored
and humbled to be the head coach of the Badgers.
I grew up with this special football program and was
fortunate enough to be a part of it as both a player
and assistant coach.
From my experiences at UW I understand how
important the Mendota Gridiron Club is and the
impact it has on our program. I already personally
know a number of the members and look forward
to meeting more as the season approaches. Your
dedication to Badger football is truly amazing.
With the support of the Mendota Gridiron Club, we
are able to give our student-athletes a world-class
experience at the University of Wisconsin. One of
the major changes I observed when I arrived back
on campus and Coach Alvarez gave me a tour was
how impressive the facilities are in and around Camp
Randall Stadium. Though I was only gone for three
years, the results of the renovations were remarkable.
A lot of that credit is due to the dedication of people
and donors like yourselves.
My staff and I are extremely excited to get started
preparing for the 2015 season. The bar has been set
high at Wisconsin and we look forward to meeting
that challenge. Coming off a tremendous 11-win
season that included a Big Ten West Division title,
our players are looking to build off the momentum of
the Outback Bowl win over Auburn.

We preach to our players about being smart, tough
and dependable and we are dedicated to having a
program that all can be proud of both on and off
the field. Like every season, there will be a mixture
of familiar faces and new names. As coaches,
the fun part of each season is seeing how those
two groups mesh and develop. That process has
already started.

I can’t wait to step back onto the field at Camp
Randall this fall. Football Saturdays in Madison
are truly special days. Another special opportunity
for us will be when we kick off the season on Sept.
5 against Alabama at AT&T Stadium in Texas. It
will be a national showcase for our program and
hopefully a number of you can make the trip to
help cheer us on.
