We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ICT Manager to ‘Don the Sash’ and join our Corporate Services Team based at our state of the art club headquarters at Melbourne Airport. The Opportunity The Head of Information & Communications Technology you will oversee the day to day running of the strategic and operational provision of information technology and communication services for Essendon Football Club (‘the Club’). In the role you will need to engage and collaborate with executive and senior management from across the Club and lead a team of three (3) IT professionals supporting the Club’s main headquarters, two gaming venues as well as game day infrastructure at the MCG, Etihad and other interstate stadiums. As the Head of Information & Communications Technology, you will be responsible for the following: Ensuring the efficient operation of the Club’s network, client servers, databases, and hardware related equipment; Initiating and participating in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans; Incident/Problem Management using the ITIL Service Management Framework; Providing day to day management with Vendors and Suppliers across software & hardware procurement; Planning and leading projects to implement and upgrade enterprise IT Applications (CRM, GP, RMS etc.) and key infrastructure, network and legacy systems; Working closely with key business stakeholders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions; Leading the implementation of a robust IT governance framework, in particular establishing effective networks & policies; In conjunction with the business and executives creating and reviewing the Club’s IT Strategy; Leading, coaching and developing the IT team to achieve Club outcomes and personal goals; Maintaining network performance monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and system health at all times; Ensuring sound security, risk and business continuity plans; and Developing and maintaining IT Budget and expenditure. What we’re looking For To be considered for the role, candidates must have the following essential skills and experience: Demonstrated experience managing people, leading and developing high performing IT teams; Strong technical proficiency in all areas of IT infrastructure, including networking, telephony and desktop; Experience with tools and methodologies used for assessing: IT infrastructure vulnerabilities; virus protection; encryption; authentication; exception tracking and analysis; auditing; monitoring; content filtering; patch management; and identity management; Experience with and an in-depth understanding of LAN/WAN network environments, firewall traversal, logging tools, encryption systems, wireless, Citrix and Internet based information systems including cloud and social computing; Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring IT security in ICT systems; An ability to play a key role as influencer, as well as excellent communication skills, specifically including the ability to effectively transition between technical and nontechnical states; Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field; 3rd Party and Vendor management and negotiation; A hands-on, 'can-do' attitude and a background of delivering results in pressurised situations; Current Driver’s Licence; Flexibility to be available out of normal working hours, including on call roster and some game days as required throughout the year; and Permanent Residency in Australia, or appropriate visa to work permanently. Other Highly Desirable Skills and Experience: Certified in project management preferably practitioner level of PRINCE2 and demonstrated skills and experience in using contemporary project management methodologies in delivering best practice, customer focused ICT systems / successful projects; Commercially minded who can see the big picture and will consider full range of business drivers to obtain the best result for the business overall; and Highly developed skills in computer literacy, particularly in the area of business productivity products Microsoft Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint and Mac equivalent software.
