what is



Developed for the US Navy in1950, Metalphoto ® is one of the most durable identification materials known.
Generically, Metalphoto is referred to as “photosensitive anodized aluminum”.
Metalphoto gets its durability through its two-part construction:

Metalphoto ?
The anodized top-layer is sapphire-hard and protects against chemicals, paint, abrasion and dirt.
The image beneath is formed from photosensitive silver particles, so unlike printed dyes or pigments (all other printed materials),
the image will sustain years of outdoor exposure and extreme heat.
Metalphoto is most commonly used for industrial or military applications where permanent identification is critical.
However, as a photographic substrate, it has also been used for architectural signage and other applications
where detail, high-resolution and lasting appearance are desired. It is truly beauty and brawn together.

UV-stable image is permanently sealed within the anodized aluminum.
Virtually impervious to chemicals, heat, abrasion, salt spray and sunlight.
Certified for 20+ years outdoor applications.
Earned more top scores than any other barcode label material tested by
the U.S. Navy (NSWC, Corona Division, IUID Center; August 2011).

• Environmentally sustainable process.
Always
Readable
• Photographic images afford extreme detail and contrast at any size.
• Ideal for barcodes/AIDC applications.
so unique, it gets a dictionary entry
