CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST Concurrent Enrollment with Front Range Community College provides an opportunity for high school students to earn both high school and college credit for a college-level course. At FRCC we call this program College Now. It is designed to enrich a student’s educational experience by providing curricular options beyond what is offered at the high school. Please note: Neither your high school nor Front Range Community College are responsible for monitoring your submission of forms. You are asked to be thorough, proactive, and timely throughout the procedures outlined for you. More information about most of these steps can be found online at www.frontrange.edu/getstarted STEPS AT FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE CHECKLIST 1. Admission Complete the college application online at www.frontrange.edu. Click on the green “Apply Now” button at the top of the screen. Once the application has been submitted, you should receive notification of your FRCC student ID number. To allow for processing, please submit your FRCC application by ________ INFORMATION ABOUT STEPS Application: § Students younger than 23 must provide parents information on the college application. It is recommended students and parents complete the application together. § Record your FRCC student identification number S_______________ 2. COF (Colorado Opportunity Fund) This step may have been completed during step one Did you give your driver’s license on the FRCC application? If yes, FRCC will apply for the COF for you. If you did not, sign up for COF at www.frontrange.edu/cof Please call 303-678-3764 if you have questions or need help. § COF is a stipend that pays a portion of in-state tuition. Failure to apply for the COF will result in paying higher tuition. § This step may have been completed with the online application. 3. Contact the College Now Coordinator Make initial contact with the College Now Coordinator-Student Services. This may be done by phone or email. Contact info to the right. This will be to verify the information on the application is correct and to discuss the Accuplacer Assessment test. u4. Assessment Complete the Accuplacer Assessment at the Testing Center located in the FRCC Administration Building at 2190 Miller Drive in Longmont. You may qualify for an exemption from part of the test. See information to the right. Online study guides and hours for testing are available at www.frontrange.edu/testing. Ms. Jaime Bertrand Phone: (303) 678-3764 Email: [email protected] § Students with ACT scores of English 18, Math 19 and Reading 17, may qualify for Accuplacer testing exemptions. § Some high school students taking a class that does not have a math prerequisite may be exempt from the math part of the Accuplacer. Advising Make an appointment to meet with the College Now Coordinator-Student Services to discuss course selection. 6. Registration Register for classes online or in person. Registration will open 4/21/15 Understand important deadlines for your classes. These dates can be found on your Detailed Student Schedule in your eWOLF account. They will also be listed on the Syllabus which you will receive in class from your instructor. Record below and on your calendar. ► Last day to drop with refund: __9___/__8___/___15__ ► Last day to withdraw, “W” grade recorded (no refund): _11__/__21__/_15__ Ø Be sure you meet with both the College Now Coordinator-Student Services at FRCC and your high school counselor before you drop or withdraw from a class. Books and Supplies § Some books may be ordered online at Students are responsible for the cost of textbooks. Purchase books for your classes at the Bookstore, located in the Classroom Building at 2121 Miller Drive in Longmont. Information can be found online at www.frontrange.edu/bookstores. www.frontrange.edu/bookstores. § Your college instructor will expect you to have your textbook the first day of class. Textbooks will be available after July 27th 8. Attend New Student Orientation If attending class on FRCC campus attend New Student Orientation on ___TBA______. § Reserve your spot online at www.frontrange.edu/orientation § Parents are encouraged to attend the family session of orientation PAYMENT Payment If you take a class on the FRCC campus you will have campus fees due on: _______.
