Here - Spring-Ford 7th Grade Center

Good morning, Spring-Ford. Today is Friday, May 1st,
2015. Today is a day 3.
If you planned on preordering a yearbook, today is the
last day. There’s a limited number of yearbooks for
sale. So don’t delay. See your homeroom teacher for a
form.
The Friends and Community Group’s Ice for Autism
fundraiser will run until next Friday. Donate a dollar
and a puzzle piece will be hung in the front
hallway. The homeroom that raises the most money
will receive a water ice party.
All students are welcome to attend the Spring Ford
Festival of the Arts this weekend at the High
School. Hours are Friday from 6:00 – 8:30 PM and
Saturday from 10:00 am – 2:00 PM. Come to see for
yourself the artistic talents of Spring-Ford’s 7th through
12th grade students!
Dodgeball sign-ups have begun. The paperwork to
sign-up is available outside of Miss Seward’s room
E242. The tournament will be held here at the 7th grade
center on Monday, May 18th. You can sign-up as a
team or you can join a team by signing up individually!
If you plan to participate, you need all paperwork in by
Thursday, May 14th. Don’t forget to plan those
awesome team shirts to try and win an extra prize! See
Miss Seward with any questions.
If you don’t want to sign-up to play dodgeball, you can
still be a supporter. Save the date: May 18th 7- 8 PM to
support your classmates and even watch some teachers
play. A $3.00 donation will be collected at the door
that night.
Are you planning to try out for the middle school Talent
Show? If so, sign up with Señora Muñoz in room E202
by Tuesday, May 5th. Auditions will be held after school
on Wednesday, May 6th in the 9th grade center
auditorium. You may leave as soon as you finish your
audition. Arrange a ride home by 4:30.
Have you brought in a flashlight yet for the collection
sponsored by our school nurses? Remember, the
flashlights should be new and they should have fresh
batteries inside. The collection is going on until May
6th. Each flashlight you donate gets your name entered
in the drawing for one of 3 iTunes gift cards.
Students who have Mrs. Rotondo for reading class, this
announcement is for you. Make sure you bring your
free choice book to class today!
Did you know that next week is National Teacher
Appreciation Week and that School Nurse’s Day is May
6th? You can show your support for your teachers and
nurses by participating in the daily themes for next
week. Here are the themes.
Monday – Put your best foot forward to celebrate our
teachers. Wear your crazy socks.
Tuesday – Your teachers are “jean”iuses. Wear jeans
and your teacher’s favorite color.
Wednesday – School Nurse’s Day - Wellness
Wednesday – Exercise your mind and body. Wear
workout attire to celebrate our nurses and teachers.
Thursday – Throwback Thursday. Wear your teacher’s
college colors.
Friday – Our teachers shine the brightest! Wear neon
colors.
Congratulations to both girls lacrosse teams on their
wins against PV East yesterday. The A Team beat the
Vikings 11 to 5 with goals scored by Claire Sites, Lexi
Kwiej (Quay), Katelyn Crist, Katie Metzler, Elle Kershner
and Natalie Mason. Phenomenal defense was played by
Ashley Hudak and Katie Barone.
The girls lacrosse B Team won 8 to 5 with goals scored
by Emma Thomas, Maleena DeAngelo, Olivia Ritter and
Rylee Clarke. Excellent defense was played by Lauren
Ruffo, Lexa Fisher and Olivia Wilson. Great job ladies!
The 7th grade boys lacrosse team defeated Keith Valley
Middle School yesterday 12 to 4. The Rams were led by
Drew Pettinelli, Colin McGill and Colin Pettine who all
scored hat tricks. Solid defense was played by Blake
Terrizzi and Ryan Kolander. Congrats on a big win.
We will now announce the students of the month for
April. Staff members consider many issues when
selecting students of the month. They look at manners,
cooperative spirit, courtesy, responsibility, good work
ethic, and individuals that consistently demonstrate
pride in school.
