April 2015 Newsletter
From the Director’s Chair:
Our Fall & Summer registration ended in March. We have
opened the registration to non-Miniapple families and will fill any
spaces from our waiting list on a first come basis. If you are planning
on attending in the summer or fall let us know as soon as possible as
we are not holding a space for you until we have those forms turned
in to us.
It is tax time again: our tax ID# is 41-1675091. Please let us
know if you would like a statement of your tuition paid for 2014.
News & Notes: Look at the bulletin boards for information
about conferences that will be held in April or May.
Also, our classrooms get cleaned, disinfected and prepped for
the next day at 3:30 in the afternoon. When picking your child(ren)
up at the end of the day, please do not let him/her work on any of
the jobs or visit any classrooms. We all know that children are
excited to show their parents a new job that they learned and that’s
why we have parent nights. The teachers work very hard to make
sure that their classrooms are ready for the next day.
Now that the cold and flu season is behind us, we want to get
back into the “Good-bye” handshake routine. This means, before
you leave for the day, please find the teacher with the clipboard
and either shake the teachers hand, give a high five, or come
up to them and say “good-bye”. This helps us maintain
accurate account as to who has left for the day. Thank you
in advance for your cooperation!

Infant House I
We have a new baby that started mid-March.
His name is Caleb, and he started with us at
just 6 weeks old! He is one of the youngest
baby that we have had in the Infant Room in
a while. Please welcome him and his family if
you haven’t done so already. Also, Maxfield will be our “Baby of
the Month” for the month of April. An important date to
remember this month is April 3rd. The school will be closed that
day for Good Friday. A reminder for parents to please bring in a
sun hat as well as a light jacket for your child, as we will be taking
the babies out for walks in our strollers as the weather warms up.
In addition, we will be taking advantage of our outside patio in the
afternoons when the weather is nice, so please sign the
authorization form located on our classroom counter if you
haven’t done so already, in order to give us permission to apply
sunscreen on your child in the afternoons. Please note that only
lotion type sunscreens are allowed at school, we cannot accept
aerosol kinds. We also have a few babies that are starting to
transition to cow’s milk in our room. We serve Kemps Select
whole milk here at school during mealtimes, but if you prefer
Organic milk, please bring in your own milk carton labeled with
your child’s first and last name on it to school, and we can
serve that instead if you prefer. As always, please come to
one of us if you have any questions.

Toddler House II
Hello April! Spring is officially here! We are so excited to be able to spend more
time outside enjoying the fresh air! March was a great month! We enjoyed
celebrating Dr. Suess’ birthday and St. Patrick’s Day – the highlight of course was
drinking green milk! We also loved working on art projects, showing off our green
clothing, working on green themed jobs and eating healthy green snacks! I would
also like to thank you all for the kind birthday wishes!
With the changing of seasons, please remember to check your child’s extra
clothing to make sure it is weather appropriate and that it still fits! Also please
remember that during this time of year our playground can be very wet, so extra
clothing (indoor and outdoor) is a must! Yay for warm weather and a shining sun!
This month we will discuss many different aspects of spring, including
rain showers, warmer weather, beautiful spring colors, birds, Easter and Earth Day!
We will also begin to work on our Spanish more now that our friends are
becoming much more verbal! The kids really love to learn new words and it is
amazing what they are able to pick up on!
Please remember that we will be closed on Friday April 3rd for Good
Friday! Happy Easter! The week of April 20th - 24th we will celebrate Paths to
Peace Week! It will be a fun filled week – Please look for more information and
details as we get closer!
Spring conferences are scheduled for April 27th and 28th! Please keep an
eye out for a sign-up sheet that will be posted soon! If you are interested in
chatting with me about your child’s progress, or have any questions or concerns,
this is a great time to have a chat where you have my full attention! If these
days/times do not work for you, please let me know and we can arrange another
time to meet.
Just a heads up, our spring program will be held on Friday May 15th,
starting at 6:30pm. Please have your child at the Roseville Middle School by 6:15pm
ready to melt hearts! More information along with a potluck sign-up sheet will be
posted closer to the day.
Just a reminder, between Ms. Michelle’s friends and my class, we have
multiple children with allergies to PEANUT products. WHEN SENDING PEANUT
PRODUCTS THEY MUST BE LABELED VERY CLEARLY! We need to provide a safe
environment for all of our children. It is also very important to wash the children
well before arriving to school if your child had peanut products at home. The
children are doing great setting up their own lunches, but please remember that
ALL food items MUST be labeled with first AND last name – this includes items
that will be throw away, both tops and bottoms to containers and ice packs! Thank
you!
Have a wonderful month and as always, if you have any questions,
comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with me!
Ms. Sarah
Children’s House I
It's April already and Spring is here. Soon Spring will be in full
bloom. With the nicer weather you will notice the children playing
outside more. Please dress your child in weather appropriate
clothing and check the bin in the bathroom to check sizes and to see
if the clothes are warm or cool enough.
Along with some activities on the shelves and the food works
changing we will also start to plant some in our garden. Some of the
things we will plant are herbs, veggies and flowers. Contributions of
these items are greatly appreciated. This is also a time to check your
child's plant in the classroom to see if it needs to be repotted into a
bigger pot. If you want to bring in a new bigger pot--we will happily
repot it for you.
To go along with our Grace and Courtesy Lessons--We will be
talking a lot about inner peace, being peaceful to others,
peacemakers from around the world, and much more......
If you find any small items that may look like they belong in the
classroom please bring them back to the class. The children see
these items as little treasures and naturally want to keep them for
themselves. Thank you for your help with this.
Dates to Remember:
*Conferences will be held Mon. 4/20, Tues. and 4/21. The sign-up
sheet will be posted in the hall--sign up it's always a pleasure
meeting with you.
*We will have a fun Easter egg hunt the week before Easter.
Please, be mindful of the board outside of the classroom for dates.
As always we are here for you if you need anything. Let us know
your questions, comments or concerns. We will do our best to
answer them.
Have a great month -Ms. Vanessa and Ms.Fanny

for the month of April.
Bonjour!
In March, we learned the vocabulary words for opposites
such as small/big, thin/fat, soft/hard, and long/short. We
also covered the facial features and body parts, as well as,
the words for muscles and bones. We continued to
practice our French Spring Program song, and the children
so far have learned the first two verses of the song. They
are doing really, so I will introduce the last two verses of the song and
movements as they get more familiar and comfortable with the song. We
also played the “Poule” game, which the children enjoyed a lot! They would
pick out an egg from a basket, and then open it to find a certain colored
square in it. They had to match it with the corresponding color on the
chicken, and say that color in French as they placed it. We also read a few
more stories from the “Triples” book that they love so much!

"I Caught Ya's!"
Ms. Nou – Ms. Nou has been so very welcoming to my child and
has helped both of us in the mornings.
Ms. Marie –A couple of weeks ago my child had a terrible diaper
rash and Marie went out of her way to offer extremely helpful tips,
specifically a great oatmeal bath recommendation. I’m so grateful
and so is my child!
