Data Visualizations have been brought into many different business teams and often influence day
to day decisions. Building operational applications with embedded analytics has the power to shift
visualizations beyond BI and into the realm of timely, predictive, and even prescriptive data-driven
decision-making.
In this work-in-progress report, Schell and Reinke discuss their project that attempts to identify and
map locations, routes, and other geographic features of Paris from three novels by the French writer
Honoré de Balzac.

How to graphically display the results of a regression analysis in order to facilitate a “sanity check” with
subject matter experts (and how to avoid having to share the equation with people who might be
freaked out by the math).
Dr. Dumas will present findings from his investigations into the human brain's affinity for music,
touching on musical sonification of brain data, chills, reward and pleasure circuits and much more.
