Miss Pepper Australian Nanny School is an elite training institution dedicated to training quality
early childhood professionals for exciting careers in Australia and abroad.
The training program provided by Miss Pepper has been created by Community Training Australia
Pty Ltd (CTA). CTA is a long established reputable Nationally Registered Training Organisation (RTO
#31905) carefully weaving two diploma level qualifications in early childhood education and care
and school age education and care.
Our future early childhood education and care professionals need more than just the usual training
to support our children in today’s world. Family breakdown and conflict unfortunately impacts
many children. Their families and workers need specialist knowledge in areas such as behaviour
management, child trauma, child safety and skills to restore a child’s confidence in themselves and

How can you study the course?
MIXED MODE
We have mixed mode options available for study with flexible delivery
options in daytime classes and also night time classes. As a student at
Miss Pepper Australian Nanny School, you will complete the equivalent
of five weeks (25 days) of classroom training over a 12 month period.
This is compulsory and full attendance is required in order to be eligible
for completion of the program. Please check with your nearest campus
for more details.
RURAL RESIDENTIAL
Study by Rural Residential is available in Mole Creek, Tasmania or
Malanda, Queensland. Depending on your location you can elect to
stay and study in one of our great guesthouses where you can kick back
after class with other students.
DISTANCE
For distance students, your self-paced study is organised into handy
1.5 hour sessions - 100 of these in total. After-hours work is expected,
however our Facebook page and online site can be utilised for peer and
tutorial support from your trainers. A trainer will be assigned to you to
help you move through the course.
INTEGRATED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
Our UK Intergrated Placement Program is available to students over the
age of 18. This program is partially covered through your course fees.
Travel and accommodation costs are an additional $3000. Payment
plans are available as well as some partial scholarships to cover this
out of pocket expense. There may be limited places and a suitability
interview is required, which includes a health check.
RPL/CT
Recognised Prior Learning and Credit Transfer are available for this
program.
Vet Fee-Help
Miss Pepper Australian Nanny School is a division of Community Training
Australia Pty Ltd (CTA).
CTA has approval under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 to
operate as an administrator of the VET FEE-HELP income contingent loan
scheme. VET Provider #7002.
Under the VET FEE-HELP Assistance Scheme eligible students can access
VET FEE-HELP, an income contingent loan scheme that assists eligible
students to pay for all, or part of their VET tuition fees, when studying
one or more of the eligible VET courses through CTA. Students wishing to
access VET FEE-HELP assistance should discuss their eligibility with their
course coordinator or email [email protected].
The Department of Industry, Innovation Science, Research and Tertiary
Education (DIISRTE) website contains important information about VET
FEE-HELP.
Students intending to access the scheme should read the VET FEE-HELP
Student Information Booklet available on the CTA website. When you
sign the Request for VET FEE-HELP Assistance Form, you declare that you
have read this booklet and that you are aware of your obligations under
VET FEE-HELP.

Career Options
Introduction to the course
As a student of the Miss Pepper program, you will be required to work
diligently and educate children in a truly professional way.
Within one year, you will have the opportunity to complete two
diplomas in child care – a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and
Care (CHC50113), and a Diploma of School Age Education and Care
(CHC50213) – and receive training in home based nanny care.
Diploma level training is now required in industry for workers in child
care. Through obtaining these qualifications, you will be able to progress
in your chosen career faster, rather than be hindered by obtaining a
lower level qualification from elsewhere which will have to be upgraded
later. The Miss Pepper program allows you to access diploma level
programs immediately. This costs you less in the end as well. Fast track
your future, why wait.

WHAT CAN YOU DO AFTER YOU FINISH THE COURSE
IN TERMS OF FURTHER STUDY?
You can continue with CTA and do other courses including the
Diploma of Counselling, Diploma of Youth Work or Diploma of
Management where you will learn more about supporting young
people, their families and organisational management.
You can also go on to university. Many universities will provide up
to 12 months credit or more to a Bachelor Degree of Teaching/
Education (Early Childhood).
Nanny Intergrated Placement Program
As part of the Miss Pepper program, students will have the once in a life time opportunity to learn
about nanny and au pair work in the United Kingdom.
You may elect to do this additional three week tour where you will visit an historic English nanny
college and agency. You will talk to existing nannies and visit a number of British nurseries.
You will have a visit to London and enjoy some sightseeing and shopping. Your accommodation in
Bath city (1.5 hrs from London) has dorm accommodation, student/youth living areas, internet, a
gym and a dining area. You will feel secure as two CTA staff members will supervise each group of
students.
Sharing this experience with fellow students and making great contacts will help you in your plans
for working as a nanny or au pair overseas and you can start planning your adventures from here.
Please note that students wanting to go on this integrated placement program will need a current
Australian Passport and will be interviewed to ensure suitability. Exemplary behaviour throughout
the course is required as a prerequisite. In addition, a full health medical approval to travel is
required. You also need to be 18 years of age by the time you apply to travel, to participate in this
overseas integrated placement program.
The childcare centre
As part of your training you will be provided the opportunity to complete work placement with
children, families and other educators in a number of education and care settings.
At the start of your time with Miss Pepper Australian Nanny School you can nominate childcare
centres you would like to complete work placement in and we will organise official placement
agreements (MOUs) with these centres. You will be provided with forms that must be filled out by
your nominated supervisor in the childcare centres you choose to complete your training in. This
will provide you with the opportunity to receive on the job experience and to put the skills you’ve
learnt into action.
You will be required to act professionally and to complete work projects which will need to be signed
off by your nominated supervisor. It will be your responsibility to ensure all the required paperwork
is completed and to demonstrate your organisational skills as well as your child care skills. You’ll need
both in any workplace. Of particular importance is your log of hours.

Living in with children and families requires
a new set of skills. Your capacity to fit in
with another family and their needs is both
challenging and rewarding. Learn how to be a
nanny in a live-in context or how to work as a

own business or even some of the ways you can
use your qualifications in more exotic places like
cruise ships and resort creche facilities.

Eligibility
Prerequisites
To be eligible to enter Miss Pepper Australian Nanny School, you must:

Be 16 years of age and older by the start of study of the program;
Complete our eligibility questionnaire and interview;
Be able to complete work placement within an early childhood education and care centre/
school age education and care centre/holiday care centre in your area, with a total of 480
hours (12 weeks full-time equivalent) placement required; and
Be able to attend an additional (120 hours) three weeks placement in a home based or resort
creche care position.
To enrol in this double diploma program you will need to complete an entry questionnaire which
will assess your suitability for work in child care and your capacity to study at diploma level. The
questionnaire includes a language, literacy and numeracy quiz which will help us identify ways to
help you succeed in your study.
As this program of study involves placements in childcare centres you will need to apply on
enrolment for a Working with Children Check or Blue card. Each state and territory has different
requirements. Once you have enrolled, your training coordinator will ask you to complete the right
form for your state or territory and will lodge this on your behalf.
For students electing to take part in the nanny tour, a current Australian Passport is required to
complete this part of the program along with clearance to travel from a doctor.
