Mission Statement
Under the patronage of Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, we are a growing faith community
centered in the Eucharist and dedicated to worshiping God, our Father.
In response to our baptismal call, we commit ourselves to promote the gospel of His Son, Jesus
Christ, through Christian hospitality, spiritual nurturing, evangelical outreach, and shared social experience.
We call upon each parishioner to share his or her talents in addressing the needs of our parish and
society at large. We implore the Holy Spirit to consecrate each of us in this mission.
Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, help us share in the work of redemption.

Volunteers Needed
As was announced a few months ago,

parishioners which has been planning the
celebration (namely, Chuck and Abla Colburn, Laura DiBiagio, Mary Anne Dunbar,

Pat Klinger, Maria Malone, and Chris
Moral) needs your help in making that
day a fitting and joyful event for Monsignor Ricci, his family and friends. Next
weekend, after the April 11th and 12th
Masses, committee members will be at
a table in the narthex soliciting volunteers for various tasks (such as set-up,

Last week, 41 homemade casseroles were delivered to St. John's
on behalf of MMR parishioners.
That translates to approximately
205 hot meals for the homeless!
If you are interested in making a
casserole for this program:
1) Grab a pan and a lid from the
closet in the small kitchen in the
narthex of the church.
2) Cook and FREEZE a casserole
of your choosing.
3) Label your casserole with
the date prepared in marker on
the lid or on a sticky note taped
to the lid.
4) Place your FROZEN casserole in
the flat freezer in the same kitchen.
5) IF the freezer is full, please
alert someone at the church, and
place your casserole in the upright
freezer for the time being. If that
freezer is also full, please alert
church staff right away!
6) Make sure your casserole lid is
on tight because if the lid comes
off, the casserole may not be able
to be used
Please contact MaryAnn at 215679-2919 for any questions
about this program. If you wish
further info about St. John's or if
you would like to be put on their
mailing list, please contact St.

Presentation at
Saint Stanislaus
All are welcome to attend this
presentation at Saint Stanislaus
on April 14th at 7:30 pm in the
Parish Center. Father Michael Mullan, parochial vicar at St. Stanislaus, will share from his own experiences not a "magical formula"
but rather simple elements that
can go a long way to keep God
in family life during an age when
that value is quite challenged. It
isn´t simply a matter of praying.
Fr. Michael will sum it up with 10
catchy ways that might help keep
God in the family-craziness. There
is no cost to attend. Light refreshments will follow the presentation.
“Do not abandon yourselves to despair.
We are the Easter people and hallelujah
is our song.”
-St. Pope John Paul II
He is RISEN
“For I handed on to you as of first
importance what I also received: that
Christ died for our sins in accordance
with the scriptures; that he was buried; that he was raised on the third
day in accordance with the scriptures;
that he appeared to Cephas, then to
the Twelve. After that, he appeared
to more than five hundred brothers at
once, most of whom are still living,
though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then
to all the apostles.

Mother Teresa Week of Service
We just finished an incredible week at MMR
School where we celebrated our annual Mother
Teresa Week of Service. During this week we
participated in numerous activities including:
• Daily lessons about Mother Teresa, her life
and her work shared by students during morning
prayer.
• Visits to a temporary chapel which was set up
in one of our classrooms by members of Student Government and the Beta Club. Classes
and individual students had the opportunity to
spend time in prayer and reflection. After
visiting, one of our 6th grade boys commented, “They did a really good job setting that
up, I wish we had a chapel in
our school all the time.”
• The creation of Lenten prayer
intention hearts by all students
which were strung together
and now hang in our school
lobby.
• The collection of over 5000 toiletry items to
fill over 400 backpacks to donate to Operation Bold Heart, a charity founded by our own
alum, Thomas Howard and the members of his
Odyssey of the Mind Team. Fifty of these
bags have already been distributed to the
homeless of Philadelphia.
The week culminated with a school wide assembly
where all watched a beautiful video about Mother
Teresa. This film was produced by 8th grader
Emma Maley; it detailed the work of Operation
Bold Heart. When students donated items for distribution among the homeless, they were given a
“ticket”. Each ticket could be placed in the container of the 8th grade volunteer they wished to see
“bald” the most. The top 3 ticket earners were selected for having heads shaved. While we didn’t
take it down to the skin, we did take it seriously.
Thank you to everyone for making this effort one
of our very best. Operation Bold Heart: Think, act,
love boldly!

MMR School Teacher is
Presenter at a National Conference
Mrs. Lisa Bull, grade 6 science teacher, will make
a presentation at the National Catholic Educators
Association Convention and Expo in Orlando, Florida this coming week. Mrs. Bull will present
“Promoting Teamwork and Lab Skills in the Middle
School Classroom”. During this session she will
demonstrate the benefits of using small groups
within in her classroom and in the science lab.
Within these groups students are assigned different roles that serve to enhance learning and cooperation. Each student within the group assumes one
of five roles. These roles are clearly defined by
Mrs. Bull as leader, doer, organizer, timer, and recorder. The students
assume the responsibilities for
these roles as they problem solve
and complete experiments in the
science lab. The cooperative model
is followed by the students from
the first step through to the final lab report.
Through the use of Google Classroom, Mrs. Bull
can best facilitate and monitor student progress.
Intervention and support is provided as needed.
This model really motivates the students to grow in
many areas. Problem solving skills are developed
through the use of open ended questions and the
careful design of science lab problems. In addition,
the students must hone each of the skills related to
the role they are assigned. These teamwork skills
are essential for the future success of each student.
Mrs. Bull credits Mrs. Judge as the person who motivated her to apply for this opportunity. It is an
honor for MMR School to have one of their own
represent the community in this way.

Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the Sick, we turn to You in
this time of illness. O dearest Comforter of the troubled, alleviate our
worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant us the grace and
strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in Your
hands. We place our sick under Your care and humbly ask that You
restore Your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to
acknowledge Your holy will and know that whatsoever You do, You do
for the love of us. Amen.
