Visegrad:
The Coming War in Eastern Europe
The Visegrad 4 alliance of Poland, the
Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia,
was originally formed in 1991 as a stopgap
protective measure until those countries
could obtain full NATO membership. Even
though all four have since been granted
that status, the V4 has quietly been
maintained as a basis for further mutual
economic and military cooperation.

Putin as Warlord
A warlord is a supreme leader who
exercises military and civil control
over a large geographic area due to
the presence of armed forces loyal to
him rather than any other authority. To
be successful he has to be a man of
vision, daring, strength and charisma.

Sigma 64:
Ignored Vietnam Wargames
President Lyndon Johnson inherited
foreign policy challenges from Kennedy's
administration that were long on negatives
and short of solutions. Southeast Asia
was at the top of that list. One way he
approached the challenge was through a
wargame series codenamed “Sigma 64.”

Matthew Bunker Ridgway:
The First Cold War General
In Korea, Gen. Matthew Ridgway
not only exhibited a winning style of
personal leadership, he also adapted
to the demands made on generals in
the Cold War era by showing he was
able to plan and fight a “limited war.”
He agreed with President Truman that
expanding the war by attacking into China
would risk full-scale Soviet intervention.
There was also suspicion Moscow had
orchestrated the Korean War as a means
to divert US attention to the Far East.

AirSea Battle: The Future of
Aero-Naval Warfare
On 12 May 2013 the US Department
of Defense officially announced the
establishment of the “AirSea Battle
concept.” ASB is a major new component
in America’s equation for projecting power
and sustaining operations during war
and peace. It’s essentially an operational
doctrine. Here’s our analysis.
