Ladies’ Creative Time and Fellowship
OK, ladies, we’re on! Our first gathering for creative projects and fellowship will be on Friday, May 1st (in the
beautiful month of Our Lady!) from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Goshen House dining room. Each lady is invited to
bring a craft, mending or fix-it project of her own to work on. The goal is to set aside time to exercise our creativity,
get some work done, and enjoy one another's fellowship, perhaps with some tea, too :-). Come when you can; new
friends are always welcome. If you have any questions, please contact Amy O’Callaghan at [email protected] or
301-330-8257.
You are invited to a Family Dance! Presented by the Mother of God Friday Night Youth Group – learn line
and circle dances, and an easy square dance too! In the Mother of God School gym, Saturday, May 2 – doors
open at 6:30 for refreshment sales; lessons and dancing from 7 to 9 pm. Cost: $10 per person, max $25 per family.
Bring the whole family. Take a flyer from the front table at prayer meeting, and spread the word!
SUPPORT MOTHER OF GOD SCHOOL AT GLOBALFEST - celebrating the cultural and ethnic diversity
of Mother of God School. The World Tour and International Buffet kicks off Saturday, May 16, 6:00–10:30pm.
Come visit the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nicaragua, Egypt, Germany, Chile, and the great city of Boston.
Other activities include a silent auction, surprise raffle, and special activities and items for sale in classrooms related
to the country studied by that class. Mother of God Community is sponsoring a burger tent too!
** See the forms on the front table at prayer meeting about the need for items for the silent auction – check with
your employer or local businesses that you support to see if they are willing to donate a gift card or item to
auction off. All proceeds go to support the school, and the donor gets a tax deduction.
Mother of God School students will be selling entrance wristbands after Sunday night prayer meeting: age 21+:
$15.00, under 21: $10.00 (at the door: 21+: $18, under 21: $12) Children under 2 are free. Come and support the
school’s largest fundraiser of the year!
Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Washington
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a
yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
Jesus, the Truth, is our doorway to freedom. Yet all of us find areas of resistance in our hearts to Jesus, or
areas of bondage that limit our free response to His love as we seek to follow Him. If you are looking for help to
move out of bondage to any sin or any limiting life pattern, then the Freedom in Christ Conference is for you!
The conference is based on the widely read book UNBOUND: A Practical Guide for Deliverance which presents
Five Keys that help people access the power of the Gospel. The Five Keys simply put are the Gospel
in ACTION: Repentance and Faith, Forgiveness, Renunciation of evil, the Authority of the Name of Jesus, and
the blessing of God the Father.
God wants us to be free! This is God's gift to us in His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "If you hold to My
teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:3132).
