New York Sales Manager- Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx – Monkey Rum
Purpose of role:
The Sales Manager leads the development of distribution and sales of Monkey Rum in a specific
territory. The role combines daily field sales activities to gain new retail outlets and maximize the reordering of our brands, as well as managing, executing and tracking local promotional programs.
Overall Objectives include:
 Call on licensed retail accounts in the on- and off-premise, and sell in of the Monkey Rum
offerings;
 Retail and sales program planning and budget management;
 Execution of promotional and merchandising programs;
 Planning and execution of sampling events, including pre/post evaluation;
 Collection and analysis of monthly sales data.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
FIELD SALES DEVELOPMENT
 Actively facilitate and sell Monkey Rum to on and off premise accounts (bars, restaurants and
liquor stores), as per the distribution plan;
 Develop and execute a sales plan that includes prospecting (cold calling / warm calling), social
media sourcing, follow-up, account close and merchandising;
 Ensure all products are featured and displayed according to standards and have the allocated
space as per agreed objectives (facings, pricing, display, menu placement);
 Negotiate space for point of sale material including promotional items;
 Consistently identify and deal with the decision-maker in each outlet;
 Deliver consistent brand programs and training sessions to help retail and on-premise
gatekeepers sell and promote Monkey Rum;
 Positively develop Monkey Rum's profile within the territory, by providing high levels of
customer service and professionalism.
REPORTING
 Report daily sales results and progress in each account via CRM program;
 Submit weekly sales reports;
 Evaluate return on investment of account programs;
 Feedback on all in-account competitor activity.
OTHER TASKS
 Accurately complete all administration requirements within the set deadlines;
 Correctly maintain all equipment & company property allocated;
 Organize and participate in sampling events with agencies and Sales and Marketing colleagues.
Key Result Areas & Key Performance Indicators:
 Achievement of sales and distribution targets;
 Measurement and accuracy of prospecting reports;
 Rate of account re-orders;
 Social media and account connections;
 Execution of trade marketing programs, # of stores activated, # shoppers sampled, # of menu
placements;
 Detailed, timely, accurate reporting and anecdotal feedback.

 The jobholder of this position will have access to restricted and sensitive business information
therefore the requirement for confidentiality on all matters that could be deemed sensitive is
absolute;
 A natural communicator and motivator;
 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build very good working relationships with account
decision makers, retailers and colleagues;
 Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively;
 Information gathering and analysis capability;
 Self-motivated with an appetite and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
Qualifications:
 Field sales experience, preferably in alcoholic beverages;
 Bachelor’s degree preferred;
 The applicant must have a valid permit to work in the US and hold a full valid US driving license.
