We are seeking individual or partners to work 15
hours/week in exchange for housing and tillable land.
Barn space and pasture available.
Property is drug and alcohol free.
Housing: Brick dwelling with loft and electricity, no running
water, saw dust toilet, and wood heat. Use of farmhouse
amenities (including hot water)
37 acre farm property of mixed hardwoods, pasture,
restored prairie and prime organic tillable land is situated on
Alabama Lake in Polk County, Wisconsin. The lake and
surrounding lands comprise a 500 plus acre stewardship project.
We have dairy goats, chickens, half acre of raspberries, apple orchard, sugar bush, several gardens and
other tillable land. As farm keeper you have full use of 1 acre plus tillable land using permaculture
practices. Numerous outbuildings on property including large brick and tamarack beamed barn.
Farm is 10-20 miles from 3 local farmers markets and 65 miles to Minneapolis and St. Paul markets.
Farm Keeper’s responsibilites: goat
care, assistance with planting,
weeding, harvesting, and berry
picking
Opportunities for additional hours
($10-20/hr) dependent on skills and
experience.
