Registration Information for 2015-2016

The teaching year will be split into two semesters; Semester 1 is from September thru January and Semester 2 is
from February thru June.

I will host two recitals, one in December and one in June. There are also opportunities for students to perform in
local music festivals. Students may also complete graded examinations in piano, along with theory examinations
held throughout the year.
My fees for the coming year are as follows: 30 minute lessons are $27, 45 minute lessons are $40, and 60 minute
lessons are $54. Each additional 15 minutes is an additional $10.
If for any reason you will not be continuing lessons in the fall, please let me know by phone or email.
I would like to thank all of my students for their hard work and dedication this year, and the continued
encouragement of their parents. Have a great summer and see you in the fall!

Recommended Lesson Lengths
Beginner students are recommended for either 30 or 45 minute lessons.
Intermediate students (RCM Grade 3 - 7) are recommended for 45 or 60 minute lessons.
Advanced students (RCM Grade 8 - 10) are recommended for 60 minute lessons.

Studio Policy
As a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (www.ormta.org), I will be following
their policies and practices.
The ORMTA Music Studio Policy states:
1. Lessons must be paid for in advance by month, term or year. Post-dated cheques are an
acceptable method of payment.
2. One months notice must be given prior to termination of lessons and all fees must be up to
date.
3. Parental involvement in the progress of students is encouraged.
4. No allowance will be made for lessons missed by students, except by special arrangement in
case of prolonged illness.
5. In the event of the teacher being absent, adjustment will be made.
6. Time lost because of a student being late, cannot be made up.
7. The student must not enter into examinations, performances or auditions without the prior
knowledge and approval of the teacher.
8. Teachers respect the provision of Federal Legislation regarding protection of privacy. Personal
information provided by parents will not be shared with others without express authorization by
parents.
9. Teachers are bound by the Code of Ethics contained in the By-Laws of The Ontario Registered
Music Teachers’ Association.
Students should be able to devote a minimum of 15 minutes per day to practicing and theory should
be completed before the lesson.
