I am grateful for your kindness to me and for all of the wonderful things happening in our parish and school! The gala last weekend was a splendid event and investing in the future of our young people is a wise and prudent way for us to hand on the faith that has been passed down to us! Our treasure is gift from God to whom we owe everything. The faith that has been handed on has its cornerstone in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead! If it weren't for Easter, our faith would be in vain, but as Christians we cultivate our faith to realize the graciousness of God in bestowing all good things upon us - including living forever with God. Our readings this weekend speak to our belief in eternal life. The resuscitation of Lazarus is so powerful because we have a glimpse of the divine and human Jesus! Jesus is fully God because he restores life to his friend Lazarus! At the same time we also read about his humanity as he compassionately weeps at Lazarus' passing. The first reading from the prophet Ezekiel foreshadows the mighty and powerful work of God in restoring life and allowing us to move beyond sin and death into a new eternal reality. Our baptism into Jesus' death and resurrection makes us forever sons and daughters of God and heirs to eternal life! May we always treasure that great gift and may our knowledge of what God has in store for us prepare us to properly prepare for Easter! God bless you, Father Michael Kaluza
