DAY EIGHT
It’s been ten days since this essay was assigned, and I’m sure you are proud of the work you have in
front of you. Before we begin PEER EDITING, you will make the following editing changes in your essay.
This should take you roughly eight minutes.
1. Underline your thesis statement. This should be found in both your introductory paragraph and
your conclusion.
2. Bold all of the transition words and phrases that you’ve included in your essay.
3. Type brackets [ ] around your counter argument and refutation.
Finally, share your essay with a classmate. YOU MUST EDIT A CLASSMATE’S ESSAY AND HAVE A
CLASSMATE EDIT YOUR ESSAY. You will earn points for your Peer Editing work.
Simply read your classmate’s essay and fill out the PEER EDITING sheet. Afterward, give the sheet to the
essay’s writer, and they will make the editing changes needed. The peer editing sheets will be turned in
before the end of class.
