Position Summary: The Director of Lending provides leadership and management to Montana CDC’s lending team which includes lenders, underwriters, and loan fund administrators. The position oversees all credit decisions, provides oversight of loan structuring, and oversees portfolio management. This is a key position at Montana CDC, connecting lending with all of the company’s departments. Job Duties Strategic Leadership Guide strategic planning and work plan development for the lending team that increases and enhances the organization’s impact in Montana and Idaho Develop, oversee and implement annual lending work plans with each lending team member In coordination with the controller and CFO, manage the lending team budget Develop best lending practices and annual updates to the lending policies and procedures Provide mentorship and professional development plans for all team members Lending Team Management Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to an eight person lending team Provide leadership to ensure all lending team members track their annual work plans goals and accomplishments Provide reports to executive team on lending goals and accomplishments Assist lenders in preparing compelling and accurate credit proposals for the loan committee Ensure lenders adhere to Montana CDC lending policies and procedures and suggest and implement annual improvements Create targeted client assistance plans with the asset managers to ensure loan clients are successful. Plans often include providing grants, one-on-one assistance, and Montana CDC trainings. Oversee asset managers in their loan portfolio management including loan modifications and workouts Oversee lending database management and reporting Qualifications, Experience and Training: Significant real estate and business lending experience or the experience necessary to quickly assess what makes a business successful Extensive leadership and management experience Strong understanding of loan portfolio management Experience working in a team environment College degree required; MBA or MAC preferred Excellent MS Office skills Flexibility, positive attitude, drive, and the ability to work in a dynamic and growing company Commitment to Montana CDC’s mission of providing financing and consulting services that enhances the lives of individuals and strengthens community prosperity.
