Bio: Rich Hoffman
Rich Hoffman is a 20+ year Army Information Technology (IT) defense contractor
with Alutiiq, LLC . He is a Senior Strategic Planner helping to shape the future
directions of systems, networks and hosting arrangements used within the Army.
For the past 51+ years, since his eighth grade science class and timed with the
Lonnie Zamora sighting on 24 April 1964, Rich has been pursuing his primary
interest in investigating, researching and lecturing on the subject of UFOs. He even
had the opportunity to lecture to the Air Force on the subject at Wright Patterson,
AFB.
Over this time, he has worked with numerous organizations:






Former MUFON State Section Director in Dayton Ohio (home of the Air Force
Projects associated with UFOs)
Director of Investigations for the Ohio UFO Investigators League, Inc.
(OUFOIL).

Currently the Alabama/Mississippi State Director for MUFON
STAR Team Case Assistance Group (Rapid Response Team)
Top 10 Case Reviewer (We review over 12,000 cases each year to identify
the Top 10 for the year)
He has investigated and reviewed thousands of UFO sightings, which include
landings, radar, animal mutilations and other paranormal mysteries in his tenure.
He has delivered hundreds of lectures to service clubs, churches and many other
organizations and appeared on numerous radio and television shows (e.g., Phil
Donahue Show, Unexplained Files and many more), helped produce the UFO Files
episode: Hangar 18 – The UFO Warehouse for the History Channel and appeared in
numerous books on the subject.
During his tenure, he has worked with many of the notables in the field of UFOlogy
to include a few:

other projects

MAJ Donald E. Keyhoe (Former Director of NICAP)

Leonard H. Stringfield (Former MUFON Director of Public Relations, Author)
In 1978, Rich and the OUFOIL organization hosted one of the largest MUFON
Symposiums held with nearly four thousand attendees in Dayton, Ohio (right in the
back yard of the Air Force Project). It was a huge success!
Rich is now engaging his expertise in support of growing MUFON within the region
and has responsibilities to do so for the states of Alabama and Mississippi. He is also
developing Field Investigators across the country by sharing his knowledge and
years of experience with other MUFON Field Investigators and state leaders.
Other contributions to MUFON include
- Benefactor (Lifetime membership)
- Serves on the Science Review Board’s Case Review Team – Review hundreds
of cases monthly looking to identify the Top Ten cases for a year
- Case Assistance Group – Conduct International and National Investigations as
needed.
