Procedure to replace trees in front yards

1. The unit owners may apply to the Board to allow the unit owner to remove and DE stump Oak
or Mahogany trees in front yards
2. The cost of the removal shall be the unit owners’ responsibility by the association’s
contracted Arborist which is projected to be about $600 per tree depending on volume; this
amount could vary from $500 to $800 per tree.
3. The association will acquire the permit at a cost of $30, plus $1 per Oak or Mahogany tree
limiting the removal to nine trees
4. The association will then pay to plant a Foxtail Palm in the unit owners’ front yard at a estimated
cost of $500 per palm, depending on volume, for a total cost of approximately $4,500 for the
replacement trees
5. If less than nine Oak or Mahogany trees are requested to be removed, then consideration shall
be given to Bottle Brush Trees in unit owners front yards
6. Request will be accepted in the office beginning Monday May 18, 2015 until Wednesday May
20, 2015 in person, by email or phone
7. The requests shall be filled based on first tree type, then on first come first serve basis; the
owner will be contacted by email or phone on May 26, 2015 to let them know if they meet the
criteria
8. By June 5th the cost for the trees to be removed will be provided to the unit owner; funds for
the removal must be provided to the association no later than June 12, 2015
9. The site location of the planting will be determined by the Arborist to ensure best chance of
survival
10. Watering will be the responsibility of the owner once the tree is planted
11. All alternate owners will be notified in the event an owner does not provide the funds for tree
removal to the Association by June 12, 2015
