• CMS will update its
QIMS account
registration process to
include a new “ESRD
Application Access
Form.”
• This form replaces the “Part B” component of the account
registration effort.
• A QIMS account is required to access these CMS systems:
 CROWNWeb
 The ESRD Quality Incentive Program (QIP)
 The Renal Management Information System (REMIS)

CROWNWeb Updates
• On May 6, 2015, CMS will release the
latest version of the CROWNWeb
system—CROWNWeb 4.7.
• This release was purposed to primarily
address back-end needs, but it includes
features that are designed to improve the user experience.
• CROWNWeb 4.7 will include behind
the scenes updates that:
 Support enhancement requests
 Incorporate design updates
 Resolve overall system needs

CROWNWeb Updates
• Number of updates applied as part of CROWNWeb 4.7:
 Enhancement Requests – 3
 Design Updates – 5
 Overall System Updates – 50+
• Any change applied to CROWNWeb must be documented and
incorporated as part of a “Release.”
• System changes range from minor updates (i.e., a missing period)
to new functionality (i.e., Phosphorus Method).
• All updates work together to improve
CROWNWeb’s overall data management
capabilities.

Notifications and Accretions
• The Action List screen was updated to improve Notifications and
Accretions alert process. Acceptance criteria:
Auto-acceptance of HICNUM notifications from REMIS.
Auto-rejection of Date of Death (DOD) notifications when the CROWNWeb DOD is within the same
month/year as the REMIS DOD value.
Ignoring of case sensitivity in the creation of notifications on fields: First Name, Last Name, HICNUM, and
Gender.
Prevention of duplicate notifications from being generated.
Prevent duplicate notifications from being generated.
Automatically inactivate for corresponding notifications or set the status to “accepted” for notifications
that are no longer relevant due to updated CROWNWeb data.
The user can select one to many facilities for the report from a list of facilities within their scope.

• CROWNWeb 4.7 will feature two major CMS-2744 validation
updates.
• Fixes have been implemented to resolve the following errors:
Error-the total
number of patients
attending school
(field 35) cannot be
greater than the total
number of patients
receiving Vocational
Rehabilitation
services (field 33).
The number of

school is incorrect.
