Woodbine Station A Great Place to Live. r e n Ban June 2015 We’re online! www.mywoodbinestation.com Save the Dates for our June and August ADULT’S ONLY Pool Parties! Hosted by The Woodbine Station Association (Turn the page for details!) Saturday June 20th 7:30pm Breeze Saturday August 8th 7:30pm Woodbine Station - Your Life, Your Home. Join us for our Summer Adults Only Pool Parties! Woodbine Station is excited to host two fun adults only Summer pool parties! On June 20th, we have our “Sunset Summer Breeze” party and on August 8th, our annual “Low Country Boil”. Both parties begin at 7:30pm on the Woodbine pool deck. This is a great opportunity to have a relaxing night with your neighbors and to meet new people. Woodbine hosts many fun family events, so it is nice to have a few events for ADULTS ONLY! Be sure to look in our directory for a list of babysitters in the neighborhood! At both parties, you can count on some good food, candle-lit tables with fun decorations (we get very “Pinterest-ing” with the decorations :) and a good ole’ time. We love seeing our young neighbors visiting with neighbors that have lived in Woodbine for over 20 years. The pool is open for swimming and you never know when we will break out a game of horseshoes or corn hole. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit and towel because there is nothing like taking a dip in the pool under the moonlight! If you haven’t had the chance to attend of our Summer Adult parties, please give it a try! Ashley and Pete Fordonski Save the Date! The weather held out for us and with the help of a great number of neighbors, the grounds of Woodbine Station are looking ready for summer! With countless volunteers, we were able to spread the pine straw on the beds throughout the pool, clubhouse, tennis court and Station House areas. The entrance signs are now visible and clean of dirt and mold. The new grills are up and running at the pool. Fresh mulch is on the ground in the playground area and the equipment has been secured. There are still some projects that need to be addressed, but we hope to have those ready for next year! A big thanks to everyone who came! It is great to see the long time residents and many new faces working together. On behalf of the Board of Woodbine Station, we thank you for all your help in making our subdivision a special place to call home! Pool News For those of you who have not picked up your badges, if you will call me at 770-9717027 or email me at [email protected], I will make your badges and put them in a basket on my front porch to be picked up. My address is 4123 Thornwall Drive. I can also accept checks if you would like to catch up on your dues, which you have to do in order to receive pool badges. If you are an adult lap swimmer, please be sure to be out of the pool by 8:30am as swim team practice starts at 8:45am. Also, starting May 26th, the pool officially opens on weekdays at 11:30am. The swim team has the pool until 11:30am so please do not enter the area until they have cleared out. Have a great summer and be safe! Nina Williams 4 4 Woodbine Station - A Great Place to Live. Treasurer’s Report and Financial Reports Attached are extracts from the unaudited financial reports for the year ending April 30, 2015 for the Association. Now that we are in the swing of summer, everyone is out and about, meeting neighbors and having a great time at the pool and tennis courts. I’d like to say a big THANK YOU to all our members who pay their dues on time (or close enough). The dues income is the only way we can keep Woodbine Station the beautiful, well-maintained place it is! On that note, if you see any of our amenities in need of repair or maintenance, please bring it to the board’s attention. We need your help to keep everything running smoothly and safely. Dues for 2015 remain at $114 a quarter. We appreciate all who can pay their whole year’s dues of $456 in advance. Please remember that your 3rd quarter 2015 dues will come current on July 1st. As always, please let me know if you have questions about your account. Kelley Smith [email protected] (email is best during the workday) Moving??? Taste of Woodbine We are fortunate as a neighborhood to have so many great cooks! Please submit any recipe you have to [email protected] and share with your neighbors! Recipe adapted from: http://www.memoriesoncloverlane.com/2010/11/ recipe-that-will-make-your-life-easier.html Ingredients olive oil 1 block of feta cheese tomatoes (any kind) about 3 1 bunch of fresh green onions or chives Fresh or dried oregano 1 fresh bakery baguette 1 large platter A tried and a true favorite! This is my go to app that is perfect for Summer gatherings in the GA heat since there is no cooking involved. Enjoy! Melissa Arnold Pour some olive oil in the bottom of the platter generously Chop tomatoes, chives and oregano Throw them on the olive oil Crumble the feta cheese and throw that on the olive oil mixture Gently mix, add salt and pepper to taste Slice the baguette. The best bread is fresh, bakery kind. You want it bite-sized and cut thin. Serve and Enjoy! 14 14 Woodbine Station - A Great Place to Live. Have you heard that Woodbine Station has a Facebook page? A NOTE FROM THE CLUBHOUSE COORDINATOR Please remember when submitting your rental agreement to the WSA Board via the P.O. Box 669126, Marietta 30062 that in addition to your check for the rental of the clubhouse it is necessary to include a check for the $250 security deposit against damages to the clubhouse and its furnishings. Your rental is not final and your date may not necessarily be held for you without this security deposit. After your event and a post walkthrough of the clubhouse, this check will either be returned to you if requested, or it will be shredded and you will be notified of this. You may indicate your choice on the rental agreement. Thank you! Judy Azzolesi 1515 Woodbine Station - Your Life, Your Home. 16 16 Woodbine Station - A Great Place to Live.
