I’m back for one more year, thank you! And almost the whole Board of Directors was re-elected in the May election, so we’ll carry on with our duties to the best of our abilities on your behalf, perhaps with yet more focus on communication. But all that can wait until we have the summer hiatus and refresh ourselves for a busy September restart! I thank all of you who attended the Annual General Meeting, representing the programs in which you participate. The 2015 AGM attendance doubled from 2014, this is truly appreciated. Unfortunately, fewer than 50% of our approximately 65 programs were represented. This leaves me wondering how to increase attendance next year. If you have any ideas in this regard, please let me know. Moving? Downsizing? Having a sale? Got anything that our members’ groups could use? Wool? Tools? Books? Every bit helps, so if you can spare it, donate it! I know that I’m repeating myself in this regard, but it’s just another reminder. Changes in my family will be keeping me busy in coming weeks. My (80 yr old) brother is getting married, my great-grandson will be having a 1st birthday party, my “in-law family” is having a reunion, and a step-daughter has her wedding planned for August. I’m looking forward to all these happy events. It means a lot of driving to attend them all, about which I am sometimes apprehensive. If you, too, will be travelling, I wish you safe journeys and happy adventures. Good times create good memories, so, like me, put the apprehension in your pocket and just get on with it!
