Eat Falafel
You might have spotted Kai and Ubiad creating their
delicious falafel wraps out on The Parade, and we’re
thrilled to announce they will soon have a unit in the
upstairs food court as well. Serving up one of the
tastiest falafels we’ve ever tasted, you can customize
your wrap with salad, tomatoes, onion, olives, cheese,
sauces and much more. Still not sure about falafels?
They have tasters available every day so you can
try before you buy.
Rootbag Records
Simon Cox is the brains behind newly opened ‘Rootbag
Records’. They specialize in punk and reggae 7 inches
but you’ll find all sorts of 2nd hand records with lots
of rock, soul and jazz LPs. There’s also a great selection
of 2nd hand books, plus other music memorabilia.

How you can support your town
in the coming months
Back
the
Watford BID
Town centre businesses, through
the Town Centre Partnership,
are working together to create
Watford’s first ever Business
Improvement District (BID).
Maria explained: “We know from our recent
business survey, that when businesses have got
involved in discussions and hear what benefits
a BID could bring, they are fully supportive. Our
major focus for the coming months is to reach
out to more businesses to secure a ‘yes’ vote for
the BID in the ballot in October. The BID
business plan will be available at the end of
Summer, so everyone will have a clear
understanding of what is provided and the
associated costs.”
Kate said: “The Watford For You brand is going
from strength to strength, we’ve now added an
Instagram page to our popular Facebook and
Twitter profiles, and work is underway to
enhance the website. With a BID in place,
Watford For You could do even more to further
promote all that Watford has to offer.”
Connect with Watford For You and the BID
on Twitter and Instagram @watfordforyou
@watfordBID, or find them on facebook.
A BID is a specific area in which organisations
pay a contribution towards extra activities and
services they collectively agree will be of benefit
to their business.
Jonathan Field, chair of the Town Centre
Partnership and managing director of John
Lewis Watford said: "We all want Watford town
centre to thrive; having a BID in place puts us,
the businesses, in the driving seat for shaping
the local environment in a way that best suits
our needs and gives us the ability to work
together on projects or ideas to drive footfall
that otherwise just wouldn't happen. I've
worked in towns where there have been BIDs
before so I've seen first hand the positive
difference they make.
Town Centre Manager Maria Manion and her
team, Jill Faiella and Watford For You Marketing
Manager Kate Leach have organised events to
engage with businesses in the town centre; to
share ideas and listen to their views.
