ADVERTISEMENT FOR APPOINTMENT AS TRAINEE ENGINEER

National Institute of Technology Meghalaya invites applications from fresh Engineering
Graduates (degree awarded not before 2014 in disciplines shown below), having an interest and
aptitude for hands on learning and commitment to work, for appointment as Trainee Engineer for
a fixed period of one year. The details of the engagement are as under:

Candidates will have to arrange for their own accommodation and food
during the training period.
Qualification
 First Class Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines:
 Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
 Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
 Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
 Civil Engineering (CE)
 Mechanical Engineering (ME)
 Degree should have been awarded not before 2014.
 Candidates awaiting final results may also apply. However, such
candidates, if selected, must have a valid degree at the time of joining.
1. To assist faculty members in conducting practical classes and other
academic works.

General Information:
1. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained/ will be obtained from recognized
Universities/ Institutions.
2. The prescribed qualifications indicated are bare minimum and mere possessions of same
will not entitle the applicants to be called for interview.
3. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, the
Institute shall conduct a Written Test to shortlist candidates for Personal Interview.

4. The applicants should furnish details of all the qualifications along with self-attested
photocopies of marks sheets/ certificates.
5. No interim enquiries/ correspondence/ communication of any sort will be entertained on the
matter.
6. Canvassing in any form will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.
7. Application not in the prescribed format, incomplete in any respect and not accompanied by
relevant certificates/ documents/ photograph will be summarily rejected.
8. After expiry of the training period, the engagement shall stand terminated automatically.
9. The candidate will have no right whatsoever to the permanent employment/regularisation or
absorption in the National Institute of Technology Meghalaya.
10. The training period will not be extended beyond a period of one year.
11. The Trainee Engineer will be awarded a Certificate on successful completion of the training.
12. The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all the applications without assigning any
reason thereof.
How to Apply:
1. Interested candidates may send their applications in prescribed format along with copies of
supporting documents in sealed envelopes to the “Registrar, NIT Meghalaya, Bijni Complex,
Laitumkhrah, Shillong-793003”.
2. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “Application for post of
Trainee Engineer in the Department of ……………………………….”.
3. The applications duly filled-up must reach the undersigned by 02.06.2015.
4. The application form can be downloaded from the Institute Website.
5. The Institute reserves the right to fill in or otherwise, any or all the advertised posts.
