Dear NME Parents and Students,
Field trips and performances, evening rec sports and activities, yard work and Spring cleaning, homework
and playing outside later and later each night . . . what a busy and exciting time of year! I hope everyone is
enjoying every minute of it! 
Some items to consider . . .

Retirements: As you may already know, we have four retirements in the district this school year.
Heartfelt thanks and a “don’t go!” to Glenn Burek, Nataly Berckmann, Jim Hall, and Sherry Marietti.
There’s a time and season for everything under the sun. Each of these quality individuals has given
so much to our school community and will truly be missed. Now it’s their turn to focus on the new
and exciting adventures that await them in retirement! Thank you all – and don’t forget to visit! 

Be Nice: A simple lifelong mantra that sums up our North STARS: Be Nice. As we begin to think
about closing out our school year, please share these two words with your child as a very simple
reminder of our North STARS. Thank you for your ever-present support!

M-STEP Testing for 3rd grade starts Monday, May 18. Please check the schedule and make sure
appointments are not scheduled during your child’s testing times/days. Thank you for helping with
this important matter.

Moulton Playground – No Parking Request: Thank you for not parking in the Moulton Playground lot
during the school day (after 8:30 AM and before 2:30 PM as the signs on the fence indicate). Thank
you for helping to keep our kids safe. (I keep putting this reminder in my letter because it seems to
be effective as parents come to school for events and field trips. Thank you so much for your help!)
A quote to end this week and begin the next . . .
“I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before, but it’s true: hard work pays off. If you want to be
good, you have to practice, practice, practice.”

during her years of service and wish her success as our new Tennis Coach.
The board was pleased to have 6 very qualified applicants and would like to thank all of them for their
interest in continuing the tradition of excellence at NMPS. The board is excited to have Ms. Saunders
join them and believes her experiences will be an asset to our district. Ms. Saunders officially begins her
role at the June 8th meeting.
