We, the Parish family of Nativity of Our Lord, proclaim that by our Baptism we have received the message of
Christmas the great love God has for all people and proclaim that love to all we meet, and so to make present
the Kingdom of God on earth by service to others and by working for justice and peace.
1-022
Dear Parishioners,
Today is Mother’s Day. It is a special day
to honor our mothers and let them know without a
doubt how much we love them. As I said, it is a
special day. It is not the only day we express our
love and admiration for our mothers. That is something we should be doing every day.
Those of us who have been blessed with
good mothers know what a gift they are to us. The
sacrifices they make for us day in and day out are
made without a second thought. They brought us
into this world. We are an integral part of them.
We are their children - no matter how old we are.
They never stop caring for us and wanting to guide
and protect us. They hold us close in their hearts.
They are truly the very personification of God’s
love for us.
Today we honor our mothers and all those
who are nurturers, the mother figures in our lives.
They too, are many and a gift to be treasured. Be
sure to recognize them all on their special day.
They are only present with us in this world for a
time, but their love for us lives on in eternity.
And so, whether present with us here and
now or already called to their reward with God, we
say: “Thanks Mom! We love you and will never
forget all you have done for us.”
Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers and to
all Mother figures!
“I Love you, Mom, And yes, I know you
love me too.”
God bless us all!

Catechism of the Catholic Church
282. How is Christ present in the Eucharist?
Jesus Christ is present in the Eucharist in a unique and
incomparable way. He is present in a true, real and substantial way, with his Body and his Blood, with his Soul
and his Divinity. In the Eucharist, therefore, there is
present in a sacramental way, that is, under the Eucharistic species of bread and wine, Christ whole and entire,
God and Man.

A Mother’s Day Prayer
Loving God,
As a mother gives life & nourishment to
her children,
so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women,
that they may be strengthened as Christian
mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love
shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
"You, Jesus Christ become Man; You, bread! Oh,
to annihilate oneself, how little that would be! If you
had left us a relic of Yourself it would be a sign of
love worthy of our veneration, but you yourself remain knowing that you would be the object of profanation, sacrilege and ingratitude, abandoned. Are
you, Lord, mad with love?" (St. Teresa of the Andes)

PARISH CELEBRATION OF PENTECOST
A Might Wind ~ A Festival of the Holy Spirit
SUNDAY, May 24, 2015 ~ 10 A.M. MASS
Before ascending, Jesus said to His disciples: Go therefore and make disciples.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit who would assist them with this mission. On Pentecost the Holy Spirit filled the Apostles with a desire to share their faith. The disciples
took to the streets and the Church was born. Many were drawn to Christ by the conviction
of their words and the witness of their lives. All Catholics, through our Baptism, are sent
on mission to do the same.
Let’s celebrate Pentecost ~ the Birthday of the Church ~ in a special way again this year. At the 10 A.M.
Mass we will have our petitions read in different languages and our gift bearers will wear special clothing from
their country of origin. Also, our Choir will lead us in song and you can participate more fully by the following:
You are encouraged to wear something red ~ remember last year when the church was filled with red?
You are asked to attach a red ribbon to the outside of your home and car as a sign to the neighborhood that your house is filled with the Holy Spirit.
Invite a family member or friend who has been away from the Church to come home and hear again
the words of Peter to the people of many nations gathered outside that upper room.
What a beautiful time to celebrate, as a parish family, our baptismal call to mission and service. Let’s be
witnesses of our joyful and welcoming spirit and continue to live out our faith by bringing the good news of
Jesus Christ to others.
Let this Pentecost be “a mighty wind” of rededication, hope, and promise.
