NORTH MORLEY NEWS

MONDAY 27 APRIL IS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR ANZAC DAY.
CHILDREN DO NOT ATTEND SCHOOL ON THIS DAY.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to term 2. I hope you
enjoyed the school holidays. This
term the Year 6 class will be
participating in the winter sports
programme starting on Friday of
week 5 (22 May.)
NATIONAL ASSESSMENT
PROGRAM - LITERACY AND
NUMERACY
All students in Years 3 and 5 will
participate
in
the
National
Assessment Program from May
11 -14.
MATHLETICS
As you are aware the Mathletics
programme is available on line to
all North Morley Students.
It is of tremendous advantage to
our
children
providing
a
comprehensive Maths programme
appropriate to all year levels with
a particularly good extension
component.
It is strongly recommended that
the students take advantage of
Mathletics as a daily practice
programme, particularly those
students in Years 3 and 5 who are
engaged in the National Testing
Programme.
NAPLAN is next
week and extension work in
Mathletics would be of great
benefit to your child.
TERM PLANNER
Attached to this newsletter is the
Term Planner for Term 2. I hope
that parents continue to find it
useful, and that they add
important school dates as they
are published in newsletters.

for the good of everyone. It is a

to follow rules which keep
everyone safe and happy.
Cooperation is being helpful to
one another, sharing the load, It
is joining others in order to do
something that cannot be done
alone.

MOTHER’S DAY STALL
Our Mother’s Day Stall is being held on Wednesday May 6th. We are seeking small gift
donations which will be put together as sets for the children to purchase. Gifts will be
priced between .50c and $5.00. Each class has been given a suggested theme which is
posted in each classroom along with a donation collection box. We are seeking
volunteers to help run the stall on the day. Please pop into the office if you are able to
volunteer some of your time.
LAPATHON
It was a beautiful day for our Lapathon. The kids had a ball walking the oval - 20 times!! There was a great
turn out of spectators and quite a few parents participating as well! Thank you for all your hard work seeking
pledges. Please collect any money you have raised and return it to the office or your classroom teacher if you
have not yet done so, by the end of the week.
GARDEN CLUB
The Garden Club will return next week. Until then, pop by and see how our veggies have been growing over
the holidays.
CANTEEN
The Canteen will re open again next week with an exciting new winter menu. The Canteen WILL NOT be open
this Friday.
