“Mkokoteni stall” improving the lives of low-income earners Mkokoteni stall Sellers will no longer have to sell their wares seated on ground or have their vegetables accidentally stepped on by passing vehicles or pedestrians, thanks to Mkokoteni “pull cart” stall, an innovation by a student in the School of Architecture and Design. The innovation targets to improve the lives of the poor by providing vegetable sellers with a portable stall, which they can use to display their vegetables, and later on close of business, convert it to a “mkokoteni” and push it away to their residence or place of choice. This simple innovation seeks to show that knowledge in architecture can be translated to improve dayto-day challenges of low-income earners in our society.
