Huixiang graduated in 2010 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Starting his career with a semiconductor manufacturing firm, he was in charge of improving the manufacturing process and ensuring the quality of production. However, the operational nature of the job prompted him to seek a career change. His next career in the aviation industry ignited his interest in aircrafts and airline operations. The training in engineering allowed him to understand the technical details of flight and appreciate the challenges brought about in flight operations. Khoo Hui Xiang Flight Operations Executive SIA Cargo Pte Ltd Cho Yau graduated with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2013. His career started in Rolls-Royce back in 2011 as an intern as a buyer in the Purchasing department. During his short 6-month stint, he contributed to significant (6-digit) cost savings to the department. He followed up his internship with a joint-collaboration between NUS and Rolls-Royce for his FYP project where he honed his engineering skills with the Supplier Development team, and carried out a multitude of projects for lean manufacturing and kaizen for the suppliers in his portfolio. In addition, he was responsible for troubleshooting issues the suppliers were facing. Upon graduation, Cho Yau was offered a role as a full-time buyer with Rolls-Royce, where he managed 5 suppliers within SEA region, bringing cost savings of at least 10%, and even up to 40% for one supplier. In addition to his Buyer role, he was appointed Intern coordinator, with main duties to be in charge of recruitment and planning of the entire internship programme within Rolls-Royce Purchasing which now the internship programme in RollsRoyce is modelled after. Kwok Cho Yau Purchasing Development Leader Rolls Royce In mid-2014, Cho Yau moved on to his current role as a Purchasing Development Leader – Training and Communications Specialist. He is responsible for training all Buyers/Managers in the APAC region in the processes/systems used in Rolls-Royce. He leads the communications model used in Central Purchasing as well. Cho Yau is also furthering his studies in Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Chain (CIPS), and has completed his diploma with distinction. He hopes to complete his MBA before turning 35. Cho Yau plays floorball and football regularly in Sunday leagues during his free time. He used to play hockey for the Singapore national team from 2005-2008 but have moved on to Floorball during his university days. He played for NUS Inter-Varsity Team during his 4 years with NUS. To maintain his fitness for the sports he is active in, he runs numerous half-marathons a year and aims to complete his first full marathon in mid-2015. Claire Li Yue has graduated from NUS Faculty of Engineering (Civil) in 2011. Recognizing her passion in interacting with people, she embarked her career as an IT recruiter in a recruitment agency. Afterwards, she also explored two more roles in Event Management and Human Recourse. Currently, Li Yue is working as a University Program Specialist for Allegis Group at Google Singapore. She leads campus outreach programs for Technical and MBA candidates in Southeast Asia. Li Yue used to be a Career Guide at NUS Career Center and is passionate about helping students to embark on their dream careers. During her free time, Li Yue enjoys watching movies, traveling and learning Spanish. Claire Li Yue University Program Specialist Allegis Group@Google Singapore Wilson Tio is a Product Engineer at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Group Asia Pacific and Japan. In this role, Wilson is responsible for leading HP APJ Group to ensure excellent product performance and quality. Wilson also manages top notch HP products such as Proliant ML350 Gen9 and Microserver Gen8. Wilson completed his Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2012. Currently, he is pursuing Master of Technology in Data Analytics at the same institution. Wilson Tio Product Engineer Hewlett Packard Wenyou Tan is the co-founder of Pulinsitang Honors Society - China's First Honors Society, which focuses on providing the best students in China with a platform to network with other like-minded elite students. The Honors Society also provides courses in finance and organizes overseas study trips to expand the horizons of students, offering our members an unfair advantage in the job market upon their graduation. He is also the co-founder of Princeton Mind, a social enterprise focused on the reintegration of exoffenders through entrepreneurship. While at Princeton Mind, he piloted programmes to help transform the lives of the disadvantaged. Many of his students have gone on to achieve academic success, and some have even gone on to become entrepreneurs. Along the course of his studies, he was offered two scholarships. He was first offered the Singapore Government Scholarship to pursue his Bachelor of Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He has also received the National University of Singapore Overseas College scholarship to study business management at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. Tan Wenyou Co-Founder Pulinsitan Honors Society, In the corporate world, some of his achievements include setting up and managing a 1billion RMB fund investing in Singapore-based start-ups and Small & Medium Enterprises with the Ministry of Trade and Industry. While he was there, he has successfully organized corporate training seminars whereby he invites top corporate executives from MNCs to share with his fellow colleagues their experiences in business. Besides organizing corporate training seminars, Wenyou has also conducted seminars on Venture Capital and Career Development to SMEs owners, corporate executives and universities both in Singapore and China. Wenyou is also an author. He has authored three books with McGraw-Hill and Marshall-Cavendish on topic ranging from venture capital to real estate investment trust. He has also contributed to two other books with Aktive Publishing and Hainan Publishing Press. He has also contributed three articles on the Singapore Economy with Business Times. Wenyou’s social endeavours with Princeton Mind has not gone unnoticed by the government. He has been invited to meet with Minister Tan Chuan-Jin to discuss how Princeton Mind can implement their programmes at the national level. His work has also been featured by the Singapore and International media like the Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao and 938 LIVE. Jordan is a graduate in mechanical engineering in NUS with a specialization in Oil and Gas. He is currently on a leadership program in General Electric (Vetco Gray) and ending his first rotation in the design engineering department. His past internships during his 4 years in NUS comprised of both working in banking and engineering companies performing various roles. His first internship was in The Royal Bank of Scotland where he was a transaction analyst, in charge of managing compliance and the risks of their clients. He also completed a sales internship at Carrier Singapore and worked with the commercial operations department at General Electric. In short, Jordan has accumulated both experience and knowledge in the banking and the engineering scenes and definitely has a deep understanding of what is required of as an employee Jordan Liew Graduate Engineering Management Trainee GE Tze Meng joined GIC as a fresh graduate in the Investment Data and Valuation team as a Data Analyst working on Data Operations and related projects. He then moved to the Change Management team to manage and implement major changes in processes, workflows and systems. Currently, he is managing the Equities Corporate Actions team for timely and accurate processing of Corporate Actions and Proxy Voting events. Over the years, what has kept him going in GIC has been the excellent working relationships he formed with colleagues and the challenging work assignments he has been given.
