Faithe Foster Named Teacher of the Year
In Orange County Public Schools
May 15, 2015
Ms. Faithe Foster, a teacher in the gifted and talented program at
Locust Grove Middle School, has been named the 2015 Orange County Public
Schools’ teacher of the year. The award was announced during the school
division’s forth annual “Student-Teacher Achievement Awards” Program at
Orange County High School on April 30, 2015.
Foster who is in her twenty-seventh year with Orange County schools
earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and her Master’s
degree from Shenandoah University.
An enthusiastic Ms. Foster expressed her surprise at being selected as
Teacher of the Year from other very worthy and hardworking teachers in
Orange County. Foster said, “It is a humbling experience to be recognized
and honored in this way. I am thankful that so many have confidence in me as
an educator and want me to represent our learning community.”
Mrs. Kim Crandall, principal of Locust Grove Middle School, highlighted
Ms. Foster’s contributions and dedication, communicating, “Ms. Foster is an
excellent teacher who deserves the recognition. She is dedicated to her students, to Locust Grove
Middle School and Orange County Public Schools. When asked, her students had wonderful things to
say about her because she sends the message she cares and loves what she does every day.”
Foster was selected from a slate of finalists representing each of Orange County’s public schools.
