Tuesday, May 12, will be for last names beginning A to G. Wednesday, May 13, for last names beginning with H to O and Thursday, May 14, for last names beginning P to Z. If you are unable to attend on your scheduled day, you can make a reservation for one of the other two days. We will start at 7:30 a.m. and will end at 9:00 a.m. Watch for details about how to RSVP. Testing Dates The next round of testing begins on Monday, April 20. The schedule is as follows: Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24 – 6th grade testing Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1 – 8th grade testing Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7 – 7th grade testing Online Health Class Any current sixth or seventh grade student who is interested in taking Online Health this summer should see Ms. Sexton in the counseling center to get more details and to register for the class. Registration for this class must be completed by May 13. Registration for 2015/2016 Students who will be in the seventh or eighth grade next year will be receiving their registration cards and choosing classes beginning May 18. The registration cards will be due back on May 22. NJHS NJHS students who have been invited to apply for membership need to have all online references in by Thursday, April 23, and all other paperwork is due Friday, April 24. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Officially tapping will occur Friday, May 1. Yearbook Orders There is only a short time left to order a yearbook. Less than 75 books are available. Students can stop in the office for an order form or can order online at www.yearbookforever.com If you are unsure if an order has been placed, students can check the “purchased a book” list in each grade level. The final day to purchase is May 1. Eighth Grade Day The eighth grade Celebration of Learning will be on the last day of school, June 3, during the school day. Awards presentation will take place first thing in the morning. Following the awards, the 8th graders will leave the building for a bowling outing sponsored by the PTA. They will return in time for lunch and special activities for the rest of the school day. Please remember that school fees must be paid and emergency medical forms completed in order to participate. Watch for permission forms to be sent home in the near future. 8th Grade Panoramic Picture If your 8th grader forgot to bring the order and payment for the panoramic picture that was taken on Wednesday, extra order forms are available in the office. Orders will still be accepted in the office through Wednesday, April 22. Oakettes and Oak Hills Juniors Tryouts for these dance teams are on Friday, April 24, at OHHS. Tryouts are open to dancers who will be in grades 7 to 12 next school year. Information packets with all details are available in the Rapid Run office. OHHS Spirit Shop The spirit shop will be having a spring cleaning open house on April 18, from 9 to 3. They have short sleeved tshirts (reg. $12) on sale for $8. They will also have the new graduation signs for $10 Any grey hoodie will be discounted $5 to $25. You can also take 15% off all polo shirts! They also have great windbreakers for this spring weather. Stop by and grab some bargains! Volunteers Needed OHHS After Prom is May 16May 17. Volunteers are needed for set-up and decorating on the evening of May 15, on Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00pm, and then overnight beginning at 11:00 pm. Community Event “Know Your Community, Know Your Resources” was formed to increase awareness, education and family support within our larger community to help families link to resources. Their focus is on safety, prevention, and building community support. Their next program will be on May 7, at Diamond Oaks cafeteria from 5:45 to 8:00 pm.
