San Roque Christ Holidays
Visit to the May Crosses
On Saturday the 2nd there will be a guided visit fro the Tourist Info
for visiting “May Crosses”.

The beginning of May is a nice and appropriate moment to visit Oliva
and its streets, which are artistically decorated with the floral
monuments of the May Crosses. As a part of the programme of the
Sant Roc holidays the XV competition is celebrated.
Crosses are made of natural and fresh flowers and the design is
awarded, the colouring, the composition and the originality.
Sunday is the most important day in these holidays. Starting in the
morning with the Aurora’s song, following at the midday with the mass
in honour of the Holy Christ, in the evening with the procession and to
finish the day with a fireworks display.
Is well worth visiting the Christ’s chapel, which is considered an
authentic baroque painting jewel from the 18th Century.

5th “Transvalls al limit”
The following 2nd of May, we are celebrating the 5th anniversary of
“Transvalls al Límit”. In this edition we will connect route stretches
“Tnt de les Valls, TnT dels Cavallers Negres y TnT dels Parcs” in order
to create only one adventure; “Transvalls al Límit”.
134 km with 3.620 positive gradient meters. These numbers will make
this day an unavoidable date for the most extreme bikers.
1st of May at 19:00h breafing at “Centre Polivalent d’Oliva”
2nd of May at 06:00h the route beginning.

Exhibition “Between Spain and Russia. Recovering the history of
the children of the War”.
Itinerant exhibition with a clear didactic character which commemorates
the experience of the kids of the Spanish Civil War who, like some
children from Oliva, were evacuated to the Union of Soviet Socialist
Republics (USSR). This exhibition has the scientific recognition of the
University of Alcalá de Henares.

New route through “El RAVAL”, “Entre plafones y leyendas”

A great way to spend your Wednesday mornings is joining us on the
new route through the Raval (Moorish quarter), “Among devotional
panels and legends”. In Oliva we find this kind of panels in the
neighbourhoods of Pinet and Raval-Gerrería and they are of interest
because they are interspersed with legends featuring Arabs, as well as
being unique artisan pieces. Also, the route itself is attractive because
of the appearance of its winding streets, where visitors can discover a
living part of the history of Oliva.

the start of this 8th sailing regatta Oliva-Cullera-Oliva . The sail display
in front of the coast of the Oliva’s beach offers a nice spring picture that
will go through the North beaches until Cullera. The following day the
arrival to Oliva is at midday.
