FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
First Quarter 2015 Digital Jobs Index - Boston and New York Off To a
Slower Start Compared To Last Year
New York Adds 3.4% and Boston Adds 1.6% for Q1
[CLEVELAND, OH – MAY 6, 2015] ON Search Partners (www.onpartners.com), a leading retained executive search firm, has
compiled the results of its quarterly East Coast Digital Jobs Index. Compared to the prior three years, both cities are off to a
slower start in 2015 in terms of new job creation in the digital sector. New York's first quarter digital hiring increased 3.4% while
Boston's increased 1.6%.
ON Search Partners' John Barrett observed: "The first half of the year is normally the strongest in terms of new job creation. Both
Boston and New York City created fewer new jobs than we would have expected in the first quarter. However, we expect to see
stronger numbers in the second quarter of 2015."
New York's Top 10 list of job creators includes for the first time ClassPass. Also, NYC's Up And Comers List for the first time
includes Bustle, Button Inc., FreeWheel, JIBE, Kickstarter and Poppin.
Boston's Top 10 list featured only familiar names from past quarters. No new entrants made the list of Top 10 job
creators. However, the Up And Comers List included newcomers Salsify, BlueSnap, SiteSpect, Redpoint Global, Booster, PillPack,
Wanderu and DealerRater.
Other interesting take-aways from the first quarter Digital Jobs Index include:

believes that the businesses surveyed represent more than 90 percent of the Internet and digital employees in New
York and Boston. Major digital sub-sectors covered include consumer Internet, small business Internet, advertising
technology, consumer payments and marketing automation. Excluded from the survey were digital-focused
employees of "traditional" companies and digital ad agencies. ON Search Partners continually adds or subtracts
companies for inclusion in the Index based on the criteria of employing 10 or more employees in either the New York
or Boston metropolitan areas. ON Search Partners' East Coast Digital Jobs Index is current as of April 1, 2015.
